Dear lord baby Jesus, or as our brothers to the South call you, Jesus, please let this baby inherit his/her mother’s smile. Thank you.
Congrats man (and belated congrats on the secret wedding). Sorry I don’t have any pregnancy or baby-type advice, my gal’s kiddos were already youngsters when I showed up. Let me know when college time comes around, then I can give you some tips. What I will say is, time goes by fast. Enjoy every moment of their growing up.
Also, if it’s a girl, I’d be up for taking a trip out there to help you give her suitors “the talk.”
Congrats, Davinci. I was in your same boat just months ago and here is what I found based on a standard google search. There are some competing opinions on supplementing with CLA. From what I understand, most CLA supplements are derived from sunflower or safflower oil, which in eastern medicine is sometimes prescribed to regulate a woman’s menstrual cycle, even force contractions i.e. really bad for the pregnancy. Other sites actually say to use sunflower or safflower oil in place of other oils. Given the discrepancy, we figured better safe than sorry and avoided any CLA in supplement form or as contained in those oils. I am not sure of how the CLA in Flameout is derived because I simply lack the knowledge of the scientific names used to compare them to the source.
Wow. Thank you everyone for the kind words and advice, I wasn’t expecting nearly so many responses. Chris, no worries about the smile…she’s pretty much the anti-Davinci…she’s always smiling and is agreeable whereas I’m…well, not . If it is a girl, I really appreciate helping me give her “suitors” the talk but I’d prefer there be no witnesses to the events.
Patha, thank you for looking into that for me…that’s sort of what I was looking for…even if it’s not concrete I was just recently able to get her to start taking fish oil on a regular basis and while I still stockpile Flameout I would rather be safe than sorry.
Hey man just want to tell you congratulations! I have a 2 year old girl myself and being a dad is the best feeling in the world.
I will tell you a story that should make you feel better. When my wife was about 7 months pregnant, we stopped at Taco Bell for lunch. Went through the drive thru. We were in a hurry, so after we got our food I drove off, not checking to see if we got everything. About 2 blocks up, she noticed they didn’t give her a fork like she requested for her Taco Pizza or whatever they’re called. The shit that came out of this woman’s mouth was unreal. She threw random shit in the car… at one point grabbed a pen Jason Bourne style. I was never so scared of a pen in my life. I think I actually drove the remaining 3 hours with my back against the car door to watch her lol.
When we got to our destination, she was just bright eyed, happy as could be… kissing my ass left and right, telling me how much she loved me.
Anyway, just keep reminding yourself it’s just the hormones, and it will pass… we hope… lol. Good luck to you brother and congrats again!

Update: She’s beginning to be extremely sensitive and overreact to things in the past she wouldn’t get mad about. How long will this craziness last?[/quote]
If I’m remembering correctly, the first trimester was kinda rough. She seemed to settle in after that.

For the rest of your life. Get used to it. Every man has a crazy wife. That’s what Yo Daddy tells me.

Haha, great story and that does make me feel better. Thanks for that as well as the other comments.

Almost died laughing. Thanks I needed that. My girlfriend could have our first any minute.
To answer your question- The whole time. It’s worse in the beginning and she will get better at holding her emotions back, but their will be bursts of insanity throughout. Remember Lattimer from The Program, yea but with tits. Best of Luck.
Also, start reviewing breast pumps if you can get her to breast feed. Medela is a popular model. Expensive, but apparently very good.
