Well, her “philosophy” was more of an ideology that bordered on a religion, so she probably thought she was writing her version of the Bible.

I’m going to think about this, but I don’t like this interpretation.
Then you would just love my interpretation of The Wizard of Oz. And it is far more comprehensive.
. . . Fuck. Now I have to know.
Let’s just start with the title itself.
Job 1:1, “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job…”
Well, that could go several different directions.
Don’t be vague, be . . . something else.
“Follow the yellow brick road…”
Rev 21:21, “…and the street of the city was pure gold…”
The wizard of Oz lived in the Emerald City.
Rev 4:2-3, “And immediately I was in the spirit and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.”
Goat massage therapist?
On a serious note, when I worked in wine country they would do all kinds of stuff to stop birds from eating the grapes. Tinsel, nets, sprays. Then I met a professional falconer who let his falcons hunt on a vineyard for a week, and apparently it scares off birds for weeks, so he had his lawn chair, let the birds do their thing, gets free wine, and and changes location every week.
How come no one told me this was an option!?!
Well, apparently you have never read any Joe Pickett books by CJ Box. Nate Romanowski knows all about the bird abatement business… lol
I have, but after college. No one told me it could be a career path as a kid - it was all military, medical, trades, or sales. Which are all great, but if I had known I could have been chilling with falcons all day and sipping wine - my guidance counsellor dropped the ball on that one.
On a tangentially-related note about career choices, if you’ve taken the ASVAB (mandatory for me,) what did it say? I got Military Intelligence and Chiropractor.
Alright. I can buy it. But then the logical extension is that god is a human pretending to be greater than he is. So - prophets?
Plus, have you read the rest of the books? They go insane. Frank Buam is a nut I’m not going to crack.
I don’t know what you are asking. Is this about Atlas Shrugged? Or The Wizard of Oz?
Ayn Rand books? No I have not. I have read a little about her philosophy which is what led me to consider her identifying with the character Dagny and her relationships with three men.
Read “We the Living”. It’s a pretty short book, only about 450 pages, and is basically a highly fictionalized autobiography. In Rand’s own words “It is as near to an autobiography as I will ever write. The plot is invented, the background is not…The specific events of Kira’s life were not mine: her ideas, her convictions, her values, were and are.”
Interesting insight into her ideals and personality.
La’
Oz. The promise of salvation turns out to be a feeble man hiding behind illusions and poppies.
I can agree. Just know, I have barely started on how the movie mocks the word of God. I would bet you can easily guess the mocking of the Trinity and who each of them portray.
That book was depressing as fuck. Anthem is my favorite.
I’ll take a shot. Wizard is God, Glinda is the Holy Spirit, Dorthey is Jesus. Since she was sent to Oz to redeem it, and then went back to her original dimension by Glinda telling her that she was always able to return by tapping her shoes (blood red), then meets the wizard/god as a normal character.
But that means Kansas is heaven, which would suck.
I think if she needed to invent a character to be the “real” her, then it’s a sign she wasn’t that interesting and the insight into her personality is really the personality she wish she had.
It’s never too late to start over! You can still be a master falconer.
