We’re all right here. Using all caps doesn’t make you look any smarter. I guess when all you have is coming in and calling people stupid…well…maybe all caps is the best you can do.

I’d like some proof that I am stupid. You know - since you have such a problem with no proof and all - you should have no problem posting up reams and reams of my stupidity.

If I were you - I would quit while you can.

I’d like some proof that I am a neocon.

You seem to be okay with the name calling as long as it is you doing the calling.

I don’t really care if you call names or not - just have an ounce of honesty and call it both ways.

Or do you think you are the only one entitled to throw names around?

So you’re not going to respond to the actual premise of the post?

The fact is, I don’t particularly love Lixy. He’s a bit too anti-American for my tastes. But what he does do is point out that, no matter what Rudi has deluded himself into thinking, the Muslim world hates the West for a REASON. Good or bad reason, the reason exists. You just refuse to accept that, so you call him a terrorist.

He by no means in any post has ever said a terrorist act was justified. To say he has by pointing out that he points out our faults more than their faults is naive. Everyone is pointing out their faults, he doesn’t really need too. And I’ve seen him throw his support behind anti-terror statements all the time.

I did respond to your post. Maybe not the way you wanted - but that is not my problem.

Like I said earlier - if you think he is defendable then knock yourself out. I am not going to waste my time debating lixy. I would have to give a shit about the subject matter to do that.

Uh. The fact that you make claims about another poster, and when asked for proof, you flatly refuse… all while berating someone else for not staying on topic?

Never said you were a neocon, sorry if it sounded like that. But its a popular neocon tactic.

Yes. You responded by refusing to back up your claims.

People with Rainjack’s line of thinking are putting our country in a bad kind of way…Really bad. I’m sick of religious extemists on both sides and their violence and wars. The best thing that could happen in this world would be if we got rid of religion all together.

Perhaps we can march all religious people into ovens.

Who did I berate for not staying on topic?

What is my line of thinking? When did I become a religious extremist?

I don’t give a good fucking goddamn what you are sick of.

They are insults hurled on an internet forum. Not claims. Learn the difference.

There are a whole pile of baseless claims hurled against me in this forum. It’s part of the game.

You can play it - yet I am supposed to back my claims with quotes?

Just in the last 10 posts I have been called a neocon, a religious extremist, and stupid.

I don’t give a shit what you call me - and at least in some sense, lixy gets that much.

A few things:

  1. The Onion is a notoriously liberal rag. I’ve read it on occasion, I never really found it informative or entertaining.

  2. Kindly let me know how Christianity is currently harming you. Especially in light of the fact that you can choose whichever religion you like, or simply choose to be an atheist. Are you trying to control what other people choose to believe, is that it?

  3. I always enjoy reading Rainjacks posts. He’s been posting on these boards and making sense for quite a few years.

Let’s assume for just a second that your bigotry has merit. What kind of really bad way is our country in?

With no religion we wouldn’t have the issues in the middle east, Iraq, terrorism, etc. The vast majority of wars throughout history have been fought over religion. We also have a significant number of christians in this country warmongering for the total destruction of Muslim countries to even include the want for use of nuclear weapons.

I’ve heard christians laugh and say, ‘they aren’t god’s people’ during bombings in Iraq. Pretty sick stuff. And another thing, if you think the war in Iraq is so important and we can’t afford to leave, then you should be in uniform. If not, you are nothing but a chickenhawk.

When I’ve got family and friends in the military in those places, I’d say it affects me. I know you’ll use the typical cop-out that ‘they chose to join’ but I don’t think they intended to be used as they are (IE, not even defending our country), and that is also the reason they and so many other members of the military are leaving the service at an exponential rate.

Being an atheist I tend to agree with your sentiment. I do not think worshiping a spiritual higher-power is the cause of evil, however, dogmatic practices that are institutionalized do tend divide and alienate those with opposing opinions. It is this alienation that causes normally rational minds to behave irrationally. This comes with being an emotional creature.

Merely getting rid of religion will not fix this problem. People will just find something else to fill the void so they can define themselves. Humans need this psychological crutch to give purpose to their lives. Instead of trying to rid the world of “isms”–and by extension, human thought–we should preach and practice tolerance.

The Golden Rule, while being rooted in Christianity, is infallible logic in my mind. How can one expect to be respected when one does not act respectfully toward others. We should practice this especially with people we do not agree with. I’ll be the first to admit I do not always achieve this ideal.

Just answer the question. You typed 3 fucking paragraphs - but managed to do nothing but call me names and make some utterly ignorant assumptions about me.

Now try again - and F-O-C-U-S.

Do explain why you feel obligated to share your opinion on subjects you don’t care about.

I wasn’t talking to you and I invite you to find where I called you a name.

I am not obligated. Where did you get the idea anyone is obligated to do anything on an internet forum?
