Dude his whole Act is fake you know that right? He just does it cause it gives him extra publicity. Not that he shouldn’t get it already for the awesome music but his “Act” makes it that much more popular.

He is playing up the ‘awkward nerd’ angle. As others have said, it’s probably to make him stand out from the crowd (and he clearly doesn’t need gimmicks to promote his music). The moment he opened his mouth I could tell he was playing a character.
I guarantee that, when the cameras stop rolling, he is a totally different person.
I don’t care if he is acting or whatever… All I know is he is one talented mofo

Oh, I agree. I’m not trying to downplay his musical abilities here: when I called him a ‘fake’ I was specifically talking about the way he presents himself.
If an individual has exceptional talent, then the idea that they have had to overcome some sort of mental or physical hardship is going to make that talent stand out even more.
I don’t think he has deliberately set out do that (he said in his bio that he wasn’t a savant), but it warrants a mention.
