I was heading on my way home on the highway at like 2 am feeling kind of sleepy and tired, when Metallica Fuel comes on the radio. Perfect! I look around and there are no cars or bikes for miles on an empty stretch road so I decided to put the pedal to the metal! I hit around 120mph all in good fun, when I zoomed by a cop car… Out of all the days. I slammed the brakes a little too hard so the car slid a little, but nothing major.
So these two cops come over ask for my stuff and told me they clocked me at 108mph(I had slowed down a little when I passed them). He checks my license, and asks me if I live on this and this street? I am like sure do. I din’t ask him why at that moment, I was mostly thinking how screwed I am but I am pretty sure this cop lives in my community… Then the other cop asks if I have any weapons in the vehicle. I say no, then he leaves for a while.
They return, he hands me my stuff and he hands me my ticket to sign. I look at it and there is no amount I had to pay so I ask him “What happened? Couldn’t fit in all the zeros?” he got pissed.(I had to get in at least one smartass comment, he kept saying things that were simply not true, but I was not going to argue with someone that clocked me doing over 100+).
I have a spot free record. Unfortunately the judges here in my county are horrible. But I deserved it, I just wished the cop was a little more lenient and had drop my speed to 99.
Some cops are just assholes, but there are those few that are pretty awesome. I had a friend get pulled over for testing his M3 on the highway at night with no cars doing 145mph. A cop pulls him over and says, “How fast can you go with this? You know I won’t write you a 3 digit ticket right?” Where was that cop when I needed him lol.
shitty luck. theres cool cops and dickheads. long story, but I headbutted my town’s chief of police and spent 8 days in jail.
on christmas leave, we got pulled over by the county sheriff. we had just gotten to the roach part of the blunt, and so car was smoked out. Obviously busted, I was about to get on the phone with my Staff Sergeant when the sheriff asks me if I’m currently in the marines. I told him that I was. He then ponders for a few seconds before saying “ok, well have a nice night, then.”
Yeah that’s the only thing I took away from your story. Your little comment, some cops are assholes. Well, no shit some cops are assholes. Some teachers are assholes. Some grocery store clerks are assholes, get it? But even though he may or may not have been an asshole, him doing his job and giving you a ticket does not make him one.
I understand the cop was doing his job, and as I said I deserved the speeding ticket, I just wished he wouldn’t have screwed me over as bad when it was 2am in the morning on the highway with no cars for miles.
Somehow the “cool cops” have come to be expected as the norm because everyone has a friend or family member that got one in some scenario, even though the vast majority of cops just go by the book(which doesn’t make them an asshole, or screwing you over, or anything).

I expected leniency when I was going 80 in a 70 on Thanksgiving at 7 o’clock in the morning to clean up my dead grandpa’s house. I got written up for 10 over.

Lol that was pretty funny, I am guessing that’s what everyone else read as well. I am just curious as to where exactly did everyone get that I mentioned THIS specific cop was an asshole? I knew I was going to get slammed with a big ticket, but apparently in the T-forums you can not be optimistic and hope for the better, you must take it like a man. =]
