After mulling on this for a while I thought of a few things:

Iâm surprised at the number of people who arenât living in America who are critical of our society.

The terms feminism and feminist are being tossed around fast and loose. There is a spectrum that ranges frome women like my wife who simply want to be as equal as men to women who want to spell âwomanâ âwomynâ. Even these two groups donât necessarily agree on everything.

Giving women equality has dramatically increased my personal quality of life because it means that my wife can get a good paying job. This takes the pressure off of me to be the sole bread winner. This equates to more flexibility in my schedule which directly coincides to me spending more time with my son. The true winner in this case is my 4 year old so you can say that feminists actually increased his quality of life too.

Single parents are higher among black and Latina woman. Since these groups are traditionally less âfeministâ Iâm not sure how anyone can link feminists to single parents. I think it has more to do with things like culture and incarceration rates than it does with women wanting equal rights. Instead of trying to get rid of feminism we should be asking why these men are not stepping up to fatherhood or why they are being incarcerated at rates higher than in white communities. But thatâs a different thread.
