Here is the problem with feminism: in order to treat them equally, we must hit them when they act like this. On the other hand, hitting a woman makes us sexist. Therefore, it is sexist to both hit and to not hit a woman.
I came in here planning to swing my shining sword (white knight) but I just can’t bring myself to blame the guy.

Btw if you look at the street fighter vid at about 17 seconds hes in position to throw uppercut. She turns her head when his fist is half way there, to me that throws the whole cheap shot argument… under the bus.

You guys can try to spin it any way you like. It was a cheap shot. Basic maturity should tell you that you don’t get into a fight based on words alone, but she still crossed the line. My main problem with this has nothing to do with her being a woman, but the steps that the bus driver prior to hitting her. For one he was no longer defending himself as she wasn’t hitting him any longer, he was just getting even. But he also attempted to disguise the fact that he was about to lay into her and THAT I have a problem with.[/quote]
Your point about how this was retaliation as opposed to defense absolutely holds water. It didn’t look to me like she was still actively attacking or even in a position to do so any more when he finally got around to hitting her. The video isn’t playing very well for me so it’s kinda hard to see for sure. If that is the case, he’s got a legal problem IMO. “I was still pissed off” doesn’t stand up in court. Whether she “deserved” it or not has no legal relevance.
On the other hand, I really don’t grasp your problem with the “cheap” shot element of this. If you ever need to (and are justified to) hit someone outside a boxing ring, I strongly suggest that you do it in such a way that they don’t see it coming. It’s not Marquis of Queensbury out there.
Would I have hit her? No
Do I care that she got hit? No
Should she be in jail? Yes
Should he? Probably not (from what I saw).

I agree for the most part. I’m against hitting a woman. But she hit him - a busdriver - whose responsibility in part is to keep the riders safe. When she engaged him and hit him, everyone on that bus could have been in danger if the bus went out of control and crashed.
Perhaps the uppercut was excessive. But I assume he wanted to end the ordeal and get back to driving, and was probably surprised when she came back at him.
I too would be surprised if she came back after a uppercut like that!

Why would he even punch her in the face. A punch to the liver/abdominal region is much more effective but still looks less harmfull and brutal. There is something about punching a girl/woman in the face that looks so brutal.
