These are the protoforms of Optimus and Starscream. The forms they are before they mimick earth vehicles.
Maybe I am just being a spoilsport, but in the trailer it makes a reference to Beagle 2. The lander it shows is nothing like Beagle 2. The real Beagle 2 has no rover and is composed of circles (see image, hopefully).
The movie researchers seem to have got the Mars Pathfinder confused with the European Beagle 2.

Doesnt show too too much but to hear the people involved say what they want from the movie is comforting. I think they are going to do a very good job with this. Nice to see Spielberg is a fan.

It was slow. It was nowhere near the “huge action blockbuster!!!” they advertised it to be and overall, the story itself was just not that interesting. It needed better writers. The acting wasn’t even that bad at all, but the lines were. Steve Buscemi was one of the better actors in it. It is just not a movie I would probably sit through again…which is generally how I judge how great a movie is. If I will see it more than once (like I’ve seen movies like Event Horizon or even Resident Evil) I would rate it higher than one I may never watch again.

Going back that now looks to be his “protoform.” Which is the form he had before he interacted with earth vehicles. I’m not that against it any more and its gown on me. But it wsnt final design. I’m sure I’ll be ok with the final design.
