Getting Sufficient Fiber on High Protein Diet

Wanted to share this fiber tip. Unless you eat a lot of fruits and vegies, it’s hard to get substantial fiber, especially if you are cutting and doing a lot of protein to retain muscle while cutting. I recently started the following fiber regime - 20 grams of sugar free Metamucil in the morning (with daily creatine intake). Later in the day, 170 grams of greek yoghurt with 30 grams of Fiber One cereal sprinkled on top. This totals approximately 30 grams a fiber a day.

It doesn’t cut into your calorie limits, the yoghurt is high in protein, and makes the fiber one go down easier (like a crunch topping). Eat this daily and you will be “regular” even while in a calorie deficit - plus it’s good for you. If you are a salad, fruit and whole grain person, you can disregard this tip.

Are there any benefits to avoiding fruits and veggies and taking a fiber supplement, or would it actually be more beneficial to focus on eating those and disregarding Metamucil?

Yes, you will poop less. It is absolutely more beneficial to eat fruits and vegetables. Why is there any doubt about that?

I eat spinach, chia seeds and flaxseeds. Metathingo is expensive.
