Getting Back In Gear


Here is a pic of me in the bathroom. As you can see I have a decent level of muscle, but I’m a little bit tubby.

Early morning workout done. Got to the gym for 5.40. Was in there an hour and a half till 7.10. Did incline treadmill, rows and stretches.

I have got some protein on the way. And some HMB which I have found to be very good for strength in the past.

Wow, seriously weak today! Did 145kg on the bench, and it felt heavy. Then did 110kg for 8, not locking out properly on the last repetition. Managed 110kg for 9 on the squats, though. I think the cardio session has sapped my strength. I’m not doing cardio anymore. I honestly think it’s dangerous, how weak it made me!

A bit stronger today, but not still weak by comparison. Got 100kg for 13. 120kg for 7 on the squat. I don’t know what has sapped my strength. It was a little while ago I came off var, maybe I still had some in my system. It’s so weird that I felt I had 155kg in the bag and now 140kg feels heavy. It’s shitty, but there you go.

Good day today. Got 155kg on the bench. Then 110kg for 12. And 120kg for 8 on the squat. Both season’s bests. I also did 8 chinups. I lost a couple of pounds, thanks to doing a cardio workout, and probably improving the diet. Losing weight helps the chinups. I am having porridge in the morning which has less sugars in it than regular cereal, it’s a bit bland but one does feel an awful lot better on that as an alternative.

So I’m 12.5kg from PB level on the bench. My squat is slightly behind but is quite strong. I honestly can’t remember what my best squat was - I think it’s about 170kg. I’m not doing 1RMs on squat but there you are. I might do in future. I might get myself knee sleeves which might add 10-15 kilos.

Good day. Got 157.5kg on the bench for a single. And 120kg for 9 on the squat. Working set 130kg for 6 on the bench. Did some plate pinches at the end of the workout to try and improve the grip.

My PBs on the bench press across the weight intervals:

167.5kg for 1 (old)
157.5kg for 1 (current)
140kg for 4
130kg for 6
120kg for 9
110kg for 12
100kg for 16

Back to the gym today. I dropped 3 pounds bodyweight. I’ve not been eating very much and not feeling like it. (Given up the crisps.) Still, squatted 120kg for 10. So I’m going to bump it up to 130kg next time.

Got 2 plates for 17 on the bench. There’s a slight discount on the weight. Gym was quite busy today so I didn’t fuck around.

Back in the gym today. Got 130kg for 6 on the squat. Then 4 then 5.
I got 8 chinups, which I was impressed with.
I tried 160kg on the bench but failed. Was doing it alone so I rolled the weight off of me, down my torso. It wasn’t too bad.
I need to get in the gym more regular. I’m going to aim to get in every other day.

In a way it’s nice to finally have failed on the bench. I know where I am now. My balls have recovered most of their size now after messing about with var. I don’t think I willl go down the steroid route again - it’s expensive and it’s not nice losing your testes. I guess I had to try it once.

Bodyweight 16 stone 4. I’m losing weight slowly. It’s going to be a job to get down to the weight I was at before at 15 stone 9 when I hit the bench PB. But I’m going to try.

Back to the gym today. Squats. Managed 130kg for 7, a SB. Then did 5 then 5. Then was pasted. I thought I would wait till tomorrow to do upper body. I thought I would split it up and go more regular. Little and often approach.
I defected on the diet yesterday- I had 4 creme eggs!
