They are marxists who hate Judeo-Christian mores/Western Civilization. You have the big time atheist who is a war loving American conservative, cool. However, that’s now the usual strip of the liberal atheist.
Argument for what? For some bullshit lies you are writing about atheists? Prove your assertion that American/Canadian atheist organizations are pushing marxism and hate western civilization.
Great now I’m asserting that American/Canadian atheist organizations are pushing marxism and hate western civilization. Please prove your assertion that this is my assertion.
That’s all they do? Or are you saying all organizations do this one particular thing?

All atheist organizations do is push for the creation of the separation of church and state.
Prove that most atheists are marxists that hate western civilization. This is just one of those bullshit lies you’re fed by your priest.

For the most part yes, that is the goal of atheist/secular humanists organization.
Why don’t you read the fucking american atheists website?
These arguments are so stupid. I read the first page and it turned into an atheist vs theist debate. I’m assuming this went on for 13 pages.
There’s no point in arguing about this. It’s a waste of time and energy. You can’t change anyone’s mind when it comes to this. You guys are so busy defending your beliefs and opinions that you don’t realize that you shouldn’t really care what others think about them. Especially when it comes to religion.
WhiteFlash wrote:

Sounds like it.
The Church came up with your argument and the Church still uses it today. You’re welcome.
I would like to see this (I’ve tried to do this myself for years), I mean you know by showing this without stretching scientific findings and theories while not misrepresenting actual revelation.
Just to give you an idea of why I have tried to to this for years (I mean all I need is one revelation to be found incapable with reality and I’m out of this joint, this challenge is also valid for protestants–none have taken it, not surprisingly). Before Spring 2010 I was an atheist, skeptic nihilist anarcho-capitalistic atheist. Not just the I hate my parents, I don’t want to go Church so I’ll claim I’m an atheist, atheism. I mean I was a nihilist and a cynical atheist and I despised religion, and anyone who was religious. I would derive pleasure from destroying theists in debates. I became an executive member of the SFS in order that I could go ride rough shod over Christians/Jews/Muslims/&c groups in debates. I changed my degree to make sure it included philosophy work so I could study under my atheist mentors at my school.
I completely shunned the anti-intellectual movement within the evangelical and calvinist world that I lived in for five years that atheists despise so much. I do to this day shun the movement, rather harshly. Intellectual Catholics (Christians/Jews in general I suppose) don’t take kindly to the anti-intellectual movement that is found in these churches. They just aren’t as rabid about it, though I think they should be to a degree.
So, to act like I’m some sheep that has been blindly walking along as a kid, as someone leads him with their staff is no more than a weak intellect, a cop out, and no argument at all. Either put up a damn argument that is substantial or go think of one. Don’t waste my time with horrendous fallacies that you’ve been corrected of before. Terrible example for atheism.

I’ve never said most atheists are marxist that hate western civilization. Please prove your assertion that I have said this.
Please, prove your assertion that my priest even talks about atheists, let alone says lies about them.

I’ve read it, I’m actually a Lifetime Supporter of AA because of my involvement with SFS. I was asking for a clarification of what you were saying.
Edit: Not a Silver Lifetime Supporter, just a Lifetime Supporter. I needed beer money at the time so I skimped on the Silver membership, I guess.

Dude, you are so utterly lost it’s hopeless. You also [unwittingly] just admitted that you deal in extremes. You started on one end and have swung full force the other way. Clearly you’re a follower and feel the need to believe in something. That’s cool. I’m also willing to bet you’re fairly young. Chances are in another five years you’ll swing on to something else. Waste your time? You LITERALLY just wrote that the church invented science. That is so dumb I think I just got brain cancer. It’s pretty obvious you have nothing but time, and you are in fact wasting it on what you believe to be fact.

Nothing is out of the possibility, however actuality is what we’re looking to in this situation.
P.S. I’ve heard blasphemy is the result of daddy issues. Might want to get that checked out.
If WhiteFlash doesn’t believe in your ‘actuality’ then how is it relevant?
What is “it”?
If WhiteFlash doesn’t believe in what you claim to be actuality, then how is what you claim to be actuality relevant?
I haven’t claimed anything to be actuality, yet. He asked if it is a possibility, I said we’re not talking about possibilities. Possibilities require data samples, we have a sample of one. So, we have to do a little better than possibility.
Ah, my mistake. I thought you were claiming your beliefs to be actuality due to the way you replied to WhiteFlash.

That does make you sound like a sheep. You just went from one ridiculous variety to another. I’m not sure how that’s supposed to enhance your credibility.

Atheism only refers to a lack of belief in god. That’s it. You and I are in 99% agreement in terms of the non-existence of all gods except the one that you favor. I don’t define myself by that in which I do not believe, as I am sure you don’t define yourself by your atheism when it comes to Vishnu.
One can be a nihilistic atheist, Buddhist atheist, pacifistic atheist, fascistic atheist, Satanic atheist, etc. It is possible to take two atheists who possess two entirely different sets of values, and agree solely that there probably isn’t a god.
Don’t worry about the contexts of my weak anecdotes.
Why shouldn’t I? They are weak anecdotes and it should be noted that they are.
I have something even better for you.
Look at your own posts - in one you defend atheists, next you defend Muslims. With BC you assume attack stance.
It’s only natural for Christians to pick up on that - even way before you do.
I did not assume ‘attack stance’ with BC. I asked him why his beliefs were relevant (assuming that he said they were ‘actuality’). If he had replied saying they were because of whatever, I would’ve engaged him, sure - but would I have attacked his Christian beliefs? No. I could care less if he is Christian or not - what I cared about was the claim (which I now know he did not claim, and I just misconstrued it from his post…) that his beliefs were ‘actuality’.
So, what is this ‘third’ point of view? Thinking through a hypothetically paranoid Christian’s eyes about atheist-muslim groups ganging up on Christianity and trying to force it out of the western world?
Brother Chris I’d highly recommend just not responding to people. People believe what they want to believe (yes that works for christians aswell) words over the internet wont change anyones minds.

Yes, you still seem utterly unfrustrated, still, by my request for sound arguments instead of non-sequitors-- at the time straw men–now your arguments are just completely made up of ad hominem arguments.
You first ignored a major part of the events surrounding Mary to make an argument. When I asked you to prove that the claim that you made was sound you make the claim that science proves my religion wrong instead of proving your actual conclusion. So, I asked you to prove that my science proves my religion wrong and instead of actually doing that you say that I’m a “follower” for once being an atheist and now being a theist.
As if being a follower of truth and going where logic and reason takes you is somehow inherently wrong.
So, please this time, calm down, take a deep breath…and try to explain how your claim that science proves religion wrong, and how the fact that I’m a follower of truth has anything to do with proving that Mary is a whore?

I see what you’re saying. I’m referring to the meaning of religion in the manner of religion being a world view rather than a set of ritual practices.
WhiteFlash wrote:

I have to correct this, because this is not true. How I can be accused of holding to extremes when you and many other atheists hold these “extremes,” I’m not sure. Nihilism is the philosophy which backs up most atheistic philosophies such as naturalism, materialism, reductionism, determinism, empiricism, scientism, relativism, progressivism, utilitarianism, &c.
Oh my sweet baby jesus, please stop. At the risk of repeating myself…atheism is not a belief system. There is no atheist philosophy. You yourself are an atheist regarding 99.9% of the gods who have ever been imagined.
How many atheists in this thread identify as “skeptic nihilist anarcho-capitalistic atheist[s]”? How many simply don’t believe in god yet somehow manage to be a functioning member of society?
