George Floyd Riots

Apparently, they had a dicussion about the Roman Empire and its statues are apparently a-ok because Roman slaves were mostly white per modern-day classification.

Is BLM a private company, or a non profit/charitable organization? Just wondering what their legal obligation is to the donation they recieve?

I personally wont donate to them because they arent transparent about where their money goes, and i disagree with many of the more radical programs out there. Ive donated to VC non-profits and companies whose focus is giving seed money to minority (especially black) startups and businesses. Im a fan of the bootstraps methodology, just trying to make it so folks dont have to reach quite so far down to start pulling.

Please tell me you are joking.

My cursory due diligence check indicates they are a registered non-profit.

What the hell is that trash you just posted? hahaha. holy hell.

Ghengis khan also has like a 5% chance of being your great…great grandaddy lol. Dude was prolific. Undoubtedly the most “successful” human being to ever live.

Does that mean they have to show where their money goes? Anyone with (american)finance law/corporate knowledge know?

Edit: It looks like the Black Lives Matters Foundation is separate from BLM. It looks like money donated to BLM goes to ActBlue (which someone posted above) seems to be an umbrella company of that gathers donations from various sources and donates principally to democratic presidential campaigns:Vendor/Recipient Profile: ActBlue • OpenSecrets

So it looks like there may not be a way to actaully track where BLM donated money goes, or how much flows in vs out. Can anyone confirm?

I’m very incredulous of anything that develops a radical, cult like following quickly and receives huge sums of money, and especially if its run by folks who have never had financial success before.

Those slaves were Jews so it’s OK since they run the world now.

Plus Italians aren’t as stupid as Americans, they told BLM that Caesar had a kid with Cleopatra so the Romans weren’t racist. Shhhhhhh… don’t tell them about Cleopatra.

It means they have to file reports with the IRS. As to money outflows, I suspect there are others on the forum who could answer that better than I.

Here’s the thing: why give BLM money for them to then give to certain charities and groups? You can always just give directly to them and skip BLM’s involvement. Why doesn’t BLM just tell people to donate directly to those groups?

I read that as well. Their managing director was on a reddit AMA a few days ago and people were actually banned for asking her where the money went or even what exactly BLM does (besides ask for money). It was comical. And reddit is very left leaning so it was surprising to see these people grilling her.

There isn’t evidence to support the Jews being slaves in Egypt, or even in Egypt for that matter. It is considered myth.

It seems most experts now think the pyramids were built with paid labor.

Whether they were or weren’t, would it matter to those pulling down statues?

They will call Columbus the devil but ignore that the Spanish were really the ones who destroyed indigenous peoples and brought slavery here. Are they going to demand that Spanish no longer be spoken or that all of the cities and places in America with Spanish names be changed?

They should care. I doubt many do care though.

I saw plenty in the Met when I went through it.

What is the Met?

BLM is on my list of groups to not donate too.

As a “loyal Soldier” of the United Way and its campaigns a few years back; until I learned of executives exorbitant salaries taking luxurious vacations with hookers; I am dubious of many organizations wanting me to open my wallet for a “cause” or for “charity”.

Not giving to BLM wasn’t even that difficult for me. The truth will come out. I have a hunch that someone will truly investigate where all of that money is going, and the sham will be over.

I use a simple heuristic. I never donate to a charity where the CEO makes more than a low level civil service salary. If I see a wage of 6 figures, my wallet stays shut tighter than a nun’s legs.

Metropolitan Museum, in NYC.

That is what I assumed based on google, but wasn’t sure.

What evidence did you see? I am not saying it absolutely did not happen, just that it seems that the consensus is that evidence does not exist of it.

There is a section (Or was when I went through) on the “Shepherd Kings”, with statues and stuff, corresponding to the Biblical account of Jacob (Israel) and his offspring moving to Egypt due to famine (Per the Biblical/Torah account).
