Yeah. They couldn’t have done a worse job if they tried (and they clearly didn’t try). They are supposed to be rebooting Deadpool with the solo movie due before 2014. First-timer Tim Miller has officially signed on to direct, but following typical Fox logic, it’s a reboot with the same guy playing the Deadpool we should’ve had the first time around.

Reynolds said: "the way we want to do it is pretty nasty and pretty hard…you can’t exactly have a $200m budget when you want to do a movie like this "

^ They always say that. They can’t exactly say “well, we’re doing it in exactly the same way as we did it in X-Men Oranges: Tangerine”. I take that kind of comment as an admission that they screwed up.

Ryan Reynolds should be banned from making any more comic book adaptations. I’d like to be able to play out my childhood fantasies with a dressing up box worth millions of dollars too, but it’s time to give someone else a chance.

I just said he portrayed him in the movie, I didn’t say he did it well D:

The merc with a mouth deserves justice.
the best part is that anyone should be able to play him as his face is wrecked, so looking like him isn’t a prereq, they could just use make up and a mask or something, they just need to have someone who can pull off the role[/quote]

Dude, I wasn’t having a pop at you, I was agreeing with Kaisermetal that Fox’s handling of Deadpool was atrocious. FTR, I thought RR as Wade Wilson was one of the few highlights of Wolverine…it just all went to shit after that…why buy a cult comic character (Deadpool), then change it beyond all recognition, throw it in with another much-loved but watered-down-for-the-masses character (Wolverine) just so you can make another weak cash-in (audience identifies Deadpool as “the guy from Wolverine”).

Deadpool and his fourth wall breaking has so much movie potential. But not while the rights are in Fox’s clammy mitts.

Yeah, I found that weird that Deadpool…wasn’t Deadpool at the end. RR is too much of a pretty boy imo to be Wade Wilson. The fast talking attitude was in line though

I think the fact that RR is a pretty boy would work in favor of a real Deadpool movie…
imagine all the girls (and boys) flocking to see dishy Ryan Reynolds, only to have to sit there while he gets his face burned off. Later in the movie, Deadpool mocks them from the screen and asks them if he still looks good…

haha that would actually be amazing

would you prefer a brand new Deadpool story for the movie, or a certain Deadpool story?

Watching StakeLand (the vampire post apocalyptic movie)

Holy crap this movie is depressing. This movie is badly in need of at least one or two moments of levity.

Yes it is a little dark and dreary, not as bad as the Road.

My wife was pissed at the ending.

I enjoyed but I enjoyed the Road also.

Ideally, a new story. But I wouldn’t mind an adap. of an existing story as long as they do something wild with Deadpool the character.

Some directors have started taking the medium of cinema in directions we’ve never really seen before. I was reading that Francis Ford Coppola is trying to break the mold with his new movie Twixt.

It’s partly shot in 3D, and his aim is to use modern technology to re-edit the footage as the audience watches, gauging the crowd’s reaction and playing off it. There are elements of live performance thrown in as well (this was how early cinema started out, with a musician playing live music to the story before there was sound).

I’d like to see that kind of mix of mediums in a Deadpool movie. It would work really well where you could walk into the movie and not know what will happen. Of course it wouldn’t work so well on DVD, and the budget would have to be low…it seems the higher the budget, the fewer risks they’re willing to take…

Honestly, the acting is good in it…but I will probably never watch this again because it si fucking depressing. Nothing good ever ends up happening to these people. I haven’t watched it all of the way through (about 15-20min left), but up to that point, the rape, murder and baby killings just kind of made it unenjoyable to me.

Is it realistic? Hell, yeah…aside from the fact that we don’t believe vamps exist…but they did it in a way as they are sort of like “zombies” who just burn up in day light.

It is a little like what would happen if the world of Supernatural (tv show) were more realistic and everyone they loved just got killed off in every other scene.

Once again, the acting is spot on. But I don’t like watching movies that are that dark and written that seriously.

I would say watch it at least once though.

Damn no input on this yet?

Bought it last night played for three hours straight, got up from my chair and back was wet from sweating.

Some how they captured the edge and tense feeling I got from 1st Dead Space and old school Resident Evil 2.

Is it “first person shooteresuqe” with the point of view…or can you zoom out?

I hate that first person angle. I can play GTA all day because I can see the character from the back.

You have 4 characters to pick from, this is who I am playing. He specializes in blunt object kills.

I dont know if it is geared this way, however talking to some guys here at work, all 4 players may have different side missions. Making it play different for all 4 characters.

This will go into the keep forever pile, besides Fallout Vegas and Tiger Woods 11.

^Minus the jacket and outdated super gold chain, dude could be from 3rd Ward.

Sorry X it is straight 1st person, like Fall Out.

They did something really cool, where you are looking at actually is where you swing the objects. So if your camera angle is mid chest of the zombie you hit him mid chest, but if you are looking at the head it will hit there. Not the standard of the swing is always the same. Makes it fun when you have a machete, I have taken off arms, top of heads, whole head. No death has been the same.

Got it. Game stop. Take it home play if not like take back in the morning full refund.

I have done this many times. I made friends with the Game stop guys and always go to the same one.

I like both 1st and 3rd person views, it’s good if they give you the option to choose. 3rd person is definitely my preference though.

Saints 3 can’t come soon enough.
