Geek S**T The SIXTH

I just started playing it yesterday, I didn’t play the other Deus Ex games so I don’t have any idea what to expect but I like it so far.

If you’re not dead set on using deadly force I suggest going non lethal. It’s much more satisfying to clear a room like a ninja (a la Tenchu) than to go in all Rambo like. Plus you can tell the developers designed the game to be played non lethal.

Without a doubt, but I got to start it over for fucks sake, the step son has been playing. I have been a little busy, two things I have learned upgrade your hacking skills ASAP and communication, understand that shit for sure.

I just got back from watching “Colombiana”, bad ass movie buy the way. There are worse ways to kill an afternoon. Anybody else, while watching a movie, think “Damn. I played this mission last week.” There were a few parts in the movie where Zoe Saldana is moving in to assassinate the target, and I was thinking “I did the same thing yesterday in Deus Ex.” I’m starting to think like that in a lot of movies I see. “Battle Los Angeles” reminded me a lot of Halo and Dead Space where the main character is told where to go and what to do via a voice on the radio. Now does that mean I’m watching too many movies or playing too many video games? 3rd choice, the gap between video games and movies is closing?

Saw previews for two more movies coming out in the next few months that look pretty good.

Killer Elite - 23 September

  • Jason Statham, Clive Owen, and Robert Deniro

Haywire - 20 January 2012 - Another bad ass assassin chick in the same vane as “Salt” and “Colombiana”.

  • Gina Carano - Yes, the MMA chick is starring in a movie. She’s got the face, the body, and the skill set, but can she act? I don’t know, but look at her co-stars…
  • Michael Fassbender
  • Ewan McGregor
  • Michael Douglas
  • Antonio Banderas
  • Bill Paxton
  • Channing Tatum - Debatable. He was good in “Dear John”, so he does have some talent.

The whole time I was watching the preview I was thinking, “Is that Gina Carrano? No way. Nobody would cast an athlete with actors like these guys.” The preview has got me curious. Plus, the fight scenes look bad ass.

I’ve spent some ridiculously long hours playing Deus Ex. Excellent game. I’m diggin’ it. Load screens are a little long, but that’s my only complaint. I love how someone could probably play thru the whole game without spending one praxis point on any upgrades. Definitely a stealth game more than a shooter, much like Splinter Cell: Conviction.

I generally have been playing up the stealth side, and bypassing the enemies. Unless they piss me off, by trying to ambush me or sent out kill squads to hunt me down. Then I kill them all. I’ve gone so far as to headshot guys that I’ve already knocked unconscious. I like to think it sends a message back to their boss. Anyways, my recommended upgrades…
Hacking Skills - up them to level 3 or 4, MAx out node fortification
Invisibility is AWESOME. Max that shit out.
Icarus fall arrest system. - Prevents death from falling off high places.
Legs - Jumping and silent running are great

Combine the Silent Running, Invisibilty, and Icarus, and you become a stealth parkour god.

I maxed out inventory so I can steal enemy weapons and sell them to buy more praxis points for upgrades.

I thought they had already made a movie with the girl dragon tattoo?

They’ve made movies for all three books. Swedish movies, with Swedish actors, in the Swedish language. Now they are casting James Bond to do English versions of the films.

I don’t like the first person camera angle of Dead Island. That alone will be why I may not get it.

Have you guys tried the warhammer or driver demos? Played driver last night and thought it was fun, the whole switch cars thing is what I thought would make the game suck but it wasn’t that off putting. Haven’t played a driving game in a long time so it was a little rough at first. The warhammer game is just a pure orgy of violence. It may not be on the same level as say gears but damn its fun.

Found a bunch of Power Rangers music.

<----Fan of Panthro.

Clip from the new Thundercats note both Tigersharks and Mon-Starr from Silverhawks makes an appearence

Do you guys watch (or listen to) video game longplays? They can be pretty entertaining. Like this one, “I have no mouth and I must scream” :

It’s based on the short story by Harlan Ellison of the same name (the author also plays the main antagonist in this game).
