I’m quite tempted to check this out. A friend of mine played the demo and was raving how good the game is. But damn, I haven’t even started with Skyrim yet.

I have about 60 hours + in on Skyrim, leader of Companions, Winterhold, thieves guild and fixing to work on the Dark Brotherhood.

I just have a feeling I would really like this game also.

See what I mean? Just how many RPGs can you play at the same time? You won’t have any life left at all, lol.

I remember about 6 or 7 years, I was playing both WoW and Guildwars. There was a point at which, as a guild member, I was needed for battles and team quests, and those battles were usually planned at similar day/time of the week.

I’d finish two or three guild battles in GW and jump into WOW for more battles, with a different guild, shouting at each other on the mic… ehehe… It was fun at first but then it got quite frustrating and stressful. I quit the guilds and went solo. I had other stuff IRL to deal with anyway, other games to play, workout, MA training, competitions, work, sex etc… lol.

Still can’t believe how I used to fit it all in my daily life…

Same here. We started playing Wow when it came out in beta and only stopped after the Lich King. HUGE time sink; weeks, hell, months just literally melted away. I couldn’t commit to a game like that again. Skyrim had a similar hold of us but thankfully it’s not an evergrind like GW and WoW.

ddo, we still play, it’s free and you can pick it up and put it down a lot more easily than the others but I’m scared about Neverwinter which is just round the corner.

Yeah, this is why I’m quite hesitant with playing an MMO or RPG game now. I’ve bought Skyrim but haven’t even started yet 'cos I know somehow, I will need a lot of time to build my character and gets him to hone his skills etc… and I just don’t have the amount of time or dedication I used to for this type of game. I’d really love to play that game but don’t want to be sucked in either.

My poison was City Of Heroes. I had to quit when I counted the number of Saturday nights were spent at home playing instead of going out. Those MMOs can really suck you in.

That is why I don’t play the MMO games, RPG on console against the computer only.

I won’t lie: Skyrim had me sitting down for like 16 hours straight over the holiday period there. Lol…it does draw you in. But nowhere in the same league as a proper MMO. The main storyline itself is rather short so if you don’t stray too much you can actually have it finished fairly quickly. Or you can do all the extras and try different characters. Either way there is an end to it and eventually you’ll tire of it.

Not like YEARS later lol. Fucking WoW…

What server were you on out of interest?

The social aspect of MMO’s is very interesting. While I wouldn’t say we’ve (the missus and I) made any really close friends we’ve certainly made alot of friends we still have a laugh with over the net. We’ve visited Holland to meet up and stay with guildies, had one guy come visit us for a week from Sweden and had a crowd come over to Birmingham from Denmark for the weekend. Had some great laughs and ‘met’ some truly interesting characters, to say the least.

Fuck you Lucas just fuck you, I will keep my unmolested VHS copies of the real Trilogy and you take your Jar Jar’s and suck a dick

Dear Lord noooo!!! The Mayans where right this is a sign of the end of the world.

That was 6 years ago or so, so can’t really remember the servers name I was on. There were some dedicated to PVP or PVE or Guild vs Guilds. I was with Xen of Onslaught back then, both for GW and WOW. Usually the servers would start with Xoo or something similar…

Were you with a guild too or were you and the missus just your own team?

We were guilded. Well eventually. We started on Deathwing but split to two different guilds. I went with a less serious guild and she went with A Few Good Men who were hardcore in Vanilla leading up to Outlands stuff. From there we moved to Tarren Mill, then another I can’t remember and finally Stormrage. Lots of moving. She hated getting ganked (or any pvp for that matter) so there was some to and froing between PVP and PVE servers. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good for Lucas. I commend him for his honesty. Few would have the courage to admit that it was only there errors that gave the appearance of a good story. Most people would take the happy accident that helped develop Han Solo into the classic character that he is. Instead Lucas is willing to come forward and say “No, Han Solo was supposed to be a jackass who lucked into being alive for the series.”
