Not arguing against you or anything, you are absolutely correct in what you’re saying. Just wanted to tell kaisermetal that with “normal” demands, you don’t have to upgrade as often. Keeping 3 screens running is less affordable
And kaisermetal: If you want a system in December, I’d try to hold on until January and get one with a new graphics card. (They might be delayed, but I’d personally wait, no matter how stupid that might be) Pretty decent die shrink, should get in the neighbourhood of twice the performance per watt of current GPUs. And hopefully more RAM now that battlefield 3 shows that it’s needed.
But if you’re not gonna be playing anything too demanding, maybe that samsung laptop should be able to do it.
I just can’t wait any longer myself I want to, but just can’t do it.
lol my benchmark for ULTIMATE fun will be diablo 3, i’m playing diablo II non-stop since i can’t wait for it to arrive.
I think diablo II is the most hooking game i’ve ever played in my life.
LOL
i even thought about buying an AIR MAC because i saw that Diablo III would run swiftly on it, it had like limitless battery life compared to average laptop standard, great design and i would still try my first mac ever after reading Steve Jobs book and praising his attitude and view about life(ok, you can start throwing rocks now…)

Meh, I built mine in January 2010, and it’s still rock solid.

You want a gaming laptop? THIS is it.
0.88 inches thick (thinner than a new Macbook Pro)
2.8GHz Core i7-2640M CPU
GeForce GT 555M graphics replete with 2GB of GDDR5 video memory.
17.3-inch LED 1920 x 1080 full HD panel with an HD webcam nestled above.
8GB of RAM
three USB ports (one of the 3.0 persuasion)
HDMI-out and a 60Wh integrated battery.
$2,799 when it debuts in Q4 of this year.
While a neat idea, paying 2799 for something with a GT555M is extremely expensive. You can destroy that performance with a 1000$ laptop. And you could completely destroy that performance with a 1000$ desktop.
A desktop will always be better, but what $1000 laptop is going to beat the performance of a GT555M, by a long run?
D3 doesn’t even have high system requirements. You probably won’t need to upgrade. Since every game is being put on consoles these days and ported to PC you don’t have to really upgrade more than every 4-5 years or however long a console lasts, except for perhaps a video card if you want the shiniest graphics.
Pressed for time, haven’t found any benchmarks of the GDDR5 version of the 555M, but some seem to say it’s about 10% faster than the DDR3 version. Which is outperformed by the 560M and the 460M. NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M - NotebookCheck.net Tech
It’s a very cool laptop, but making it so thin has its price.
I might be tempted to check this out. Haven’t played MP for ages. I loved the first in the series and found series 2 quite poor, short and a bit of let down.

Pretty sure feeling “let down” was the point/entire style they were going for.
I hope they do this ands it is similar to the recently cancelled series where Booster acts like a moron but is in actuality the earth’s greatest hero
I duno- never been a huge booster fan, maybe they could make me care.

Didn’t 2 end with dreaming about your dead wife?
Evidently yes it did.
Anyway, I LOVED both games.

Well I agree with the feeling of ‘‘let down’’. It was after all about the Fall of Max Payne.
I liked the game’s dark atmosphere and settings. The graphics were definitely better than the first and the bullet time feature has also been improved.
However, the game play wasn’t as challenging as expected. I didn’t connect with the characters, found then two-dimensional and when I was done, I was longing for more. Think plot holes in the back story etc…
Meh, don’t know. I was just one of the few who were quite disappointed with this game. There’re games I expect to entertain me without the need of a strong story line. I expected MP2 to not be one of them.
Haha, ironically, I still see the title as some kind of warning.
So Johnny was killed in the negative zone in FF587 and is being brought back to life in issue 600, no surprise as comic characters always die and come back, what is interesting is that the premise of the story seems to be similar to Emporer Joker where the Joker kills off Batman everyday only to bring him back to life which eventually breaks the Bat(if not for Superman repressing his death memories the bat would have been an inmate at Arkham). According to the link Johnny will be dealing with being killed and resurrected several times in since issue 687 and his mental state could be a good read if you follow FF

Did you read the countdown stuff and his solo series after where they did a whole Quantum Leap sort of thing righting wrongs going back in time to fix mistakes that needed fixing all without the world knowing it was happening. FOr instance a time traveler finds out Superman’s identity and tries to kill him while still a baby Booster travels in time and saves the young Superman, pretty cool concept and would work real well with a decent budget and hero villian interaction with Booster
