What are the details on your PC i.e specs?

Why hide your geekness. Embrace it I say. You’d be surprised how many free beers and burgers I got last Mardi Gras while stumbling around half drunk in my Thundrecats t-shirt.

I’m 40. Most of the comics are from late 60s, 70s, and early 80s. I actually like Derek’s idea very much. I’ll probably pull the most valuable, sell those, and give the rest to the kids in small batches. Use them as rewards for doing extra chores, etc.

They will rape your valuable treasure, i wouldn’t let my kids near my collection at that age at least.

Lol I have 5 kids not a 5 year old.

Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6ghz
6gb ram
nVidia GeForce GT 230M
it’s a pavilion dv7-3080us
then bad thing is the graphic card kills the system and as it’s a HP, it OVERHEATS LIKE HELL, so whenever i play too much, the laptop enters in cooking mode and everything gets slow, and the battery has ridiculous short life-time, but that’s is expected for a desktop replacement.
I’m thinking of getting an Alienware so i don’t have this kind of trouble next time, i will NEVER get any HP laptop in my life from now on.

[i]If You Rented Online DVDs from Netflix
A Class Action and a Settlement with Wal-Mart May Affect Your Rights
Para una notificación en Español, llamar 1-877-389-4469 o visitar www.OnlineDVDclass.com
Records show that you paid a subscription fee to rent DVDs online from Netflix anytime from May 19, 2005 to September 2, 2011. We are emailing to tell you about a Settlement and lawsuit that may affect your legal rights. You may be eligible to receive a cash payment or gift card from the Settlement. Please read this email carefully. Go to www.OnlineDVDclass.com for more information.
There is a lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Walmart.com USA LLC (together called ?Wal-Mart?) and Netflix, Inc. (?Netflix?) involving the price of online DVD rentals. The Class Action seeks money for current and former Netflix subscribers. A Settlement has been reached with Wal-Mart. Netflix and Wal-Mart believe that the lawsuit has no basis. Netflix has not settled the lawsuit and the litigation continues against it.
What is the lawsuit about?
The lawsuit claims that Wal-Mart and Netflix reached an unlawful agreement under which Wal-Mart would withdraw from the online DVD rental market and Netflix would not sell new DVDs. Wal-Mart and Netflix deny that they entered into such an agreement or that they have done anything wrong, that the Plaintiffs have been harmed in any way, or that the price of online DVD rentals was raised or inflated by any agreement between Wal-Mart and Netflix. The Court has not decided who is right.
The Litigation Class Against Netflix
Who?s included in the Netflix Litigation Class? Any person or entity in the United States that paid a subscription fee to Netflix anytime from May 19, 2005 to September 30, 2010.
What are my rights in the Netflix Litigation Class?
Remain in the Litigation: If you wish to remain in the Litigation, you do not need to take any action at this time.
Get out of the Litigation: If you wish to keep your individual right to sue Netflix about these claims you must exclude yourself. To ask to be excluded, send a letter to the address below, postmarked by February 14, 2012, that says you want to be excluded from In re: Online DVD Rental Antitrust Litigation, MDL No. 2029. Include your name, address, and telephone number.
The Wal-Mart Settlement Class
Who?s included in the Wal-Mart Settlement Class? Any person or entity living in the United States or Puerto Rico that paid a subscription fee to rent DVDs online from Netflix anytime from May 19, 2005 to and including September 2, 2011.
What does the Settlement provide? Wal-Mart will pay $27,250,000, in cash and gift cards, to settle the lawsuit. If you qualify, you can get a cash payment or a gift card that can be used at www.walmart.com. The actual amount paid in cash and in gift cards depends on the total number of valid claims filed.
Class Counsel will ask the Court to award the following: (1) attorneys? fees up to 25% of the Settlement Fund, plus costs that Class Counsel estimate at up to $1.7 million, (2) administration and notice costs, and (3) $5,000 for each of the Class Representatives (up to $80,000 total which could include the class representatives from cases filed in California state courts). After these fees and costs are deducted from the Settlement Fund, the remaining amount will be equally divided amongst the Wal-Mart Settlement Class Members who file valid claims.
How to get Settlement benefits? You must submit a Claim Form to get benefits. You can submit a Claim Form online (for gift cards only) or by mail. The deadline to submit a Claim Form is February 14, 2012. Click here to get a Claim Form or call 1-877-389-4469.
What are my rights in the Wal-Mart Settlement Class?
Remain in the Settlement: If you wish to remain in the Wal-Mart Settlement Class and get benefits, you need to file a claim.
Get out of the Settlement: If you wish to keep your right to individually sue Wal-Mart about the claims in this case you must exclude yourself by February 14, 2012 from both the Wal-Mart Settlement Class and the Netflix Litigation Class. See the instruction on how to ?Get out of the Litigation? above.
Remain in the Wal-Mart Settlement Class and Object: If you stay in the Wal-Mart Settlement Class you can object to it by February 14, 2012.
The detailed notice, available at www.OnlineDVDclass.com or by calling 1-877-389-4469, explains how to exclude yourself or object.
The Court will hold a hearing on March 14, 2012 to consider whether to approve the Settlement, and a request for attorneys? fees, costs, and expenses. If you wish, you or your own attorney may ask to appear and speak at the hearing at your own cost.

Ehehe… I was at a friend of mine and I sat next to her while she played it for an hour or so. I love to play my horror, scary games in the dark. So does she.
I’ve played games such as Doom, Quake, Resident evil and Dead space… and I usually laugh all the way through but Alan Wake is just something else. The more she played it and got into the heart of the story, the more I was seriously getting scared… lol…
When she’s done, I’ll borrow her copy. I want to know what’s happened to him! But I’ve got a feeling I know it already…
If you haven’t already, you should check out Amnesia the Dark Descent. It’s a pretty good scary, horror game.

I’m always hearing bad things about Alienware like how they’re extremely overpriced and how you’re basically paying for a shiny finish and blue lights.
Might want to check out Samsung and a few other brands before you splurge on Alienware.

I would build my own before I would spend 5000 on alien ware system myself. I get a woody looking through their website. But you could get the same system built for about 3500 less.
Anyway…
I hit level 22 and I’m making Orc armor now. Its beautiful.

I’d love a well done Akira movie for sure, even a bad one, as long as they can get some decent casting and an okay script.
2 agreed
3 I enjoyed legacy, I wont say it rocked, but it was very enjoyable.
4 yet anime has always portrayed chicks with huge boobs!
5- the score to akira just awesome, hope this film has some great music with it as well.
6- have you seen appleseed or read it?
I don’t follow the geek movies very much. I pretty much just read the articles you guys link too. I find it keeps my nerd rage down, and am more likely to enjoy the final product. The Last Airbender is a pretty shitty movie. I tried watching it, but it’s just way too shitty to sit thru. I could get all upset about that, but what for? Besides I’ve got the complete series on DVD. I view the live action Akira much the same. If nothing else I’ve got the original on DVD.
My #4 comment was tongue-in-cheek. I know the Japanese are obsessed with large breast. God bless them. I think hiring Kristen Stewart to appease the Japanese is a lot like when I visit my folks in Austin, and they offer to take me out to the newest Cajun restaurant.
You’re right about the music in the original. Who ever they hire to compose the score has a lot of work to do and some very high expectations to meet.
I never read the Appleseed manga and it’s been years since I saw the anime. As of right now I’m much more familiar with the 2004 Appleseed and the 2007 sequel Ex Machina
I know number 4 was!
Haven’t seen the 2004 appleseed. I should do that at some point. I haven’t watched any good anime in a while. Need a anime day.
I mainly read manga these days.
I’ll just leave that for all you AKira fans out there feel my pain

Has anyone played Skyrim on the PC and Xbox/PS3?
I might go ahead and pick it up for a console if there isn’t a huge difference between the two besides the inevitable mods for the PC version.
As for the alienware debate- yeah they’re over priced. But get a warranty plan and it’s pain free for those that don’t know or want to mess around with building or fixing any issues they might come across.
There are cheaper options for sure.

There’s not a difference really, PS3/Xbox load slower than PC.
In fat Skyrim is really a huge console game, best console control support in a while. But once you get used tot he keyboard layout for it, it’s good too.
PC will eventually get a better texture pack making the graphics much better. So that would be my end all decision.
Though I can imagine playing it on a large screen TV is purely badass.
