I’ve played thru Alan Wake several times. I highly suggest you play it alone, after 11pm, and with all other lights turned off. You may want to keep a flashlight and .38 special nearby.
PS
Alan Wake has the best in game Heavy Metal concert ever. Suck it Guitar Hero bitches!

Ehehe… I was at a friend of mine and I sat next to her while she played it for an hour or so. I love to play my horror, scary games in the dark. So does she.
I’ve played games such as Doom, Quake, Resident evil and Dead space… and I usually laugh all the way through but Alan Wake is just something else. The more she played it and got into the heart of the story, the more I was seriously getting scared… lol…
When she’s done, I’ll borrow her copy. I want to know what’s happened to him! But I’ve got a feeling I know it already…

I highly recommend Alan Wake. Borrow the game and play thru it. Afterwards if you want to go deeper down the rabbit hole there are 2-3 DLC releases you can play.
Level 16 redguard, pure warrior, couldn’t get the hang of dual wielding plus I like my shield, so that’s what I stuck with. Like someone else mentioned for frost trolls, I was getting smoked until I got the fire breath shout, now they aren’t so bad. I use the hell out of the force push, it allows me to close the gap on magic users and stagger them. Also I buy every health potion I come across, I think carry an excess of them is necessary at all times, you never know what’s gonna come out of nowhere and attack you.

What’s everyone else’s characters?
Level 0 Haven’tDecided the NotReadyToPlayonCrossfireYet he’s pretty badass.
Seriously this game is going to be tons of fun I feel. I’ll have to limit myself to just the weekends else I’ll end up not sleeping enough.

Level 8 wizard, I wanted to be a Destruction specialist but I got a conjure Flame Atronach spell and the thing just kicks so much ass I end up using it for all challenging fights. For fighting other wizards I use a Ward spell in one hand and this badass staff I found in other, it burns 50 magicka points every shot. The only problem is it runs out of charges fast and it costs a shitload to buy soul gems to refill it, so I haven’t been able to save up enough for a house yet.
I have mostly used Force Push so far. I have some other shouts but they are so crappy when you just know the first word I don’t use them. I have one that freezes enemies for a little bit that rocks for dragons, I hope I can find the 2nd and 3rd words.

^there is minor bugs like that in the game. For example I felt in the ravine with my horse on the little bridge to the forthnorth magician academy.
At lvl6 monsters totally kick my ass. Ever encountered the sabertooth lion things instead of wolves? Watch out. Also I try to explore dungeon but I keep getting owned. I still can’t kill bandit camp chief. One day I will be strong enough.
Also anyone ever engaged a dragon? I saw a green one flying somewhat high above me and I couldn’t get him to attack me. He would have kick my ass anyway.
Stop whining! The game is amazing.

Skyrim will have to wait until I build my PC.
Young Justice is surprisingly good, you can tell the people who wrote it intended it to be for mature teenagers/adults.

I remember when I got this excited over dragon age, and it was lots of fun. Haven’t played 2 yet.
Ohh and the witcher as great too. Didn’t get worked up over it, but once I started playing holy hell it was awesome.
don’t waste your time on dragon age 2, it’s not worth it. All things that were cool on the first one they made sure to fuck on the 2.
Thats not true at all, played 2 three times thru (once for every “class”) & loved it. Loved 1 as well but they’re different. Really preferred the nonlinear story structure in 2. Gonna miss it when I trade it in for Uncharted 3. Saving Skyrim for winter hermit style.
I am amazed by every dungeon in this game, every single on is totally unique. Tonight I got a letter from a courier telling me to go visit some place and that I’d find a dragon shout there. I roll up and kill some easy monsters, see the word wall thing and a giant chest and run towards it. Just before I get to it I drop through a trap door. Some asshole wizard down there gets all excited starts telling me how he’s going to torture me to death. I lock picked my way out (with 1 lockpick left!) and torched his ass.
I also became the arch mage of the college of mages. I won’t spoil it for you guys but one of the last fights is beyond epic, took me literally half an hour to kill one guy.
Like I said in the skyrim thread, I had to sacrifice my afternoon and become a smith, got my smithing up to 100, got a full suit of dragon armor to show for it though. Only issue is I have 3 perks just sitting there for my other lvls to increase to put them to use.
I was worried I would gimp myself wasting all those levels only doing one thing, but was wrong, at lvl 23 I walked out of the city and got attacked by a dragon, took it down same as before…woohoo. Love this game so far.

Anyone else have the misfortune of wandering into Drelas’ cottage yet? Its just North West of Dustmans Cairn. Not the most welcoming of hosts.
I just got Super Mario Land 3D :')
Two hander or Sword and Shield? That is the question. I’m rocking the Skyforged Steel Greatsword(47 Damage) and I’m a slaying machine. I could put down a normal human npc in 2 swings or less normally. But when I have to block, my skills are lacking.

I was following the release of skyrim pretty closely. In all the pat games, they simply had the dungeons/caves etc generated by a program. This time, they had an entire team who’s sole purpose was to create unique and memorable locations.
