Anyone spend money upgrading their PC for Skyrim?
I just got my nVidia 570 oc’d in today and my new monitor should be here tomorrow.
Dont think i would need to upgrade my pc for it, but either way im getting it for ps3 because…well because 51" plasma, thats why.
Touche, lol. I just don’t get the immersive feeling on a console that I do on a pc. Plus, this game will have some great mods in the near future which extends playtime greatly IMO.
See im the opposite, for some reason playing on a dedicated gaming system like ps3 seems more immersive to me. Also, my laptop sits right behind me when i play my ps3, and for games like Skyrim i like being able to turn around and look things up for questing/finding gear/general information while i play without having to be minimizing the game all the time.

I knew a guy who actually had 4 monitors that he used in synchrony.

Just got Gears 3 I’ve got a plan of attack mapped out, beat campaign on gears 1 tomorrow, switch games with a friend to acquire gears 2 and slowly play through that campaign, and Then after that beat gears 3 campaign. All while playing Gears 3 multiplayer as well.
My social calendar just filled up.
I really enjoyed gears 1 and have not played gears 2 yet.
I just beat the gears 1 campaign and have been playing the gears 3 multiplayer, waiting to switch 1 and 2 with a friend tomorrow. I gotta say, the gears 3 multiplayer is a lot more friendly than the gears 1.

I am a console only kid, because computers are strange boxes filled with demons (basically I am not knowledgable to handle building/upgrading/installation problems), but Bethesda games are generally glitchy and have great “unofficial” mods that fix the problems of the games.
I pre-ordered Skyrim because I got $10 off via amazon and I knew I would buy it before the price dropped. I am worried however, because Oblivion’s leveling system coupled with its scaling mechanic made the game pretty unenjoyable for me. Power leveling was necessary and very tedious. PC mods could have fixed the problem instantly. Instead, it has been started and deleted on my X-box a handful of times.
I am very much hoping for more Fallout 3 and far less Oblivion with leveling.

From forums and (for lack of a better word)research I’ve looked at, the leveling system is very similar to Fallout 3 only you level skills based off using them.

Im a laptop guy, having multiple monitors would kind of take away from that versatility i so enjoy.

I really hope this is true. Fallout’s leveling and level scaling were, if not perfect, damn good.
I guess I will know tomorrow night.

Robert A
Pretty sure my expectations will be met, if not surpassed.
Picking it up at midnight.

Do you game from your couch with that laptop or is it usually in a stable position? If it’s on a desk hook it up to dual monitors. Makes a world of difference, even if you’re not playing games. I use 2 24 inch monitors at home and 3 19 inches at work.
Oblivion didn’t got me quite hooked, but Skyrim might just do that.
Oh how i wish i lived in America!
anyone on mw3 for ps3? thoughts?
IMO its not much different from Mw2… biggest difference u level up guns now to get attachments… new perks… new deathstreaks… new killstreaks… graphics are tightened up a bit, gameplay is the same…
