If you guys haven’t checked this out yet I would highly recommend you do so. This was one of the best DC Animated movies I’ve seen. It ranks up there with Batman:Redhood and Batman Gotham Knights. The stories are great animation more than solid and the action is epic. This gets my highest recommendation.
Side note: If you came exclusively for Hal Jordan. Your gonna be dissapoint. He’s in it but definitely not the main character.
Yeah and there where a few stories based on Alan Moore’s run in DC like Mogo doesn’t socialize(Mogo was da man until fucking John Stewart killed him/her/it)[/quote]
excited to see it, i really enjoyed the first flight.
DC kicks Marvel’s ass in the animation department.
Sidenote: are they actually doing a Wonder Woman TV show?
Is that woman I saw dressed as her playing her?
If so, that’s the best they could do?

Already cancelled X sad too Wonder Woman if done right could work really good, look how she was in the Supergirl DC cartoon.
The teaser trailer and here is a picture of her in the traditional Wonder Woman costume
Far Cry 3 looks like it’s gonna be boss.

Looks like the love child of Far Cry 2 and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.
Okay to all the old guys here who else is going to get Duke Nukem? I have to just for nostalgia.
I dont care about comparing it to new games, been waiting for years for Christs sake.

I may catch flak for this but I’ve heard too many bad things to make it worth buying, so I’m gonna download the leak and run through the single player for some nostalgia.
BF3 in 5 months though!
^ I like to make my own opinion some times, if it will entertain me than it was worth the money. I have played games that got really shitty reviews, but I enjoyed the escape so I didnt mind the expense. I dont waste money, and gaming is the only guilty pleasure I have.
As games get better and better does everyone think like movie critics things are getting separated from the entertainment value?

I’m with you on the ‘movie critic’ thing, I think it’s a problem with the entertainment industry in general and is part of why we are struggling to see ‘innovation’ and risk; developers are too worried about the investments they make into these huge projects and play it ‘safe’ to get their solid 8s and 9s and rake in the easy mainstream money. Reaching beyond that risks landing in a niche audience where your game may even be remembered as legendary but doesn’t have sales numbers to match.
Basically you need the ‘indie’ devs to innovate and get picked up after for some monetary backing; problem is indie devs seem pretty stuck on doing nothing but physics based platformers, which is getting boring as fuck.
^ So how does the industry maintain track and not derail into “Hollywood”? That is my fear.
I would like to hear what the “knocks” on Duke are? Was this from Demo or end product?
Also at what point do we start looking at the source of the critic? If people are just going by what is on internet forums I dont consider that a real critic.
Okay this looked like an interactive movie for fucks sake.

TBH that’s kind of how UC2 played, and usually I’d rail a game for being that way but it was like, a really really good interactive movie =p

I loved UC2 and this looks like it is just as good. IMO this is the directions games should be going not online competition between 12 year olds. How many times now do you watch a movie and think, damn if this was a game this is what I would do?

From what I read, the biggest problem is the game play is not smooth (which I experienced in the demo) and the loading times suck (which I can’t stand - fucking Dead Rising).
Most other complaints about the game is minor shit IMO such as repetative tasks between big shootouts. Not being able to carry more than 2 guns does kinda suck, but I take it they were trying to make it like most modern shooters.
I’ll get it eventually, but since I have a big backlog of games I’ll wait until I can snag it for $30 or less.
I’ve been rambling about this these last months
which games you guys think that withstood the test of time??
- Full Throttle
- The Curse of The Monkey Island
- Diablo 2

Honestly I put WAY more stock in the opinion of gaming communities than I do ANY review sites.
After a few of the abortions from the last year got high scores (I’m looking at you Dragon Age 2, 8.5? Really IGN?) I lost my last shreds of faith in “professional” reviewers.
There were other games that I’ve had a chance to go back through and play this summer that are MUCH better than the reviews given.
I imagine it’ll be fun, but it probably won’t rewrite the playbook.
