That’s a good question and I’m not really sure. I do know that they used the same engine but because they were a new development team, they probably weren’t able to squeak out quite as much out of the engine due to lack of familiarity. I am just speculating though.

I read Infinity Ward is doing one part of the game (I think single player) and Treyarch is doing the other part (multiplayer) joint with another development studio.
This was a couple of months ago before anything had officially been announced.
I’ll probably end up getting it at some point in time, but with Uncharted 3, Arkham City, and my existing back log I’ll end up waiting for a good deal (unless Amazon has it for $35 at launch).

I’ve always been a CoD fan ever since the first one, but they’ve gone down hill since modern warface. MW1 was great but nothing special since.
I recently borrowed Battlefield Bad company and really enjoyed it; especially the multiplayer. Definitely looking forward to Battlefield 3.
What does annoy me a lot about these types of games is the singleplayer campaign being so short sometimes. There seems to be an increasing emphasis on multiplayer gaming.

Treyarch has always had a hand in developing the Multiplayer for MW1 & 2 so nothing has really changed. I will get this on launch day, and will be killing the shit out of Soulja and RSGZ as per usual.
