My cousin read the books and told me she suspects that his death is faked by some organization. It was a very brief description, so thats all I know. Anyone else read the books and have any insight on what is going on?

Well Im not sure where she got that from b/c the books dont really have anything to do with Sheperd. Both books revolve around the scientist Kahlee Sanders. The first is about what happens between Cpt. Anderson and Seran.

The 2nd book has to do with the Ascension Project. "a program that helps gifted “biotic” children harness their powers. The program’s most promising student is twelve-year-old Gillian Grayson, who is borderline autistic. What Kahlee doesn?t know is that Gillian is a pawn of the black ops group Cerberus, which is sabotaging the program by conducting illegal experiments on the students.

When the Cerberus plot is exposed, Gillian’s father takes her away from the Ascension Project and flees into the Terminus Systems. Determined to protect Gillian, Kahlee goes with them… unaware that the elder Grayson is, in fact, a Cerberus operative."

Prince of Persia = Overhyped

This has to be the most repetitive game I’ve played since Super Mario Brothers. Every level is the same as the previous one. While the graphics are decent, the dialog is irritating. It is basically some huge quest filled with monotonous chores all so you can screw some magical chick who can float. There aren’t even any puzzles on the 4 levels I beat before I put it down.

Tomb Raider beats this hands down. If you want a challenge, go with the chick carrying rifles and submachine guns.

Wow, well I’m glad I didn’t purchase that as my first PS3 game. Thanks for the review X.

I’m really looking forward to picking up Assassins Creed after reading your review of that in the first geek shit thread. I ended up getting Fallout 3 when I got my PS3 since Assassins Creed and Oblivion both weren’t in stock and I had heard good things about Fallout 3 also. On here and on other websites/reviews.

Assassins Creed is even more repetive than Prince of Persia. It is a decent rental, but most definitely not a game to buy.

hahaha…stalker! :stuck_out_tongue:

I f-ing hate those avatars. I haven’t messed with it since I first set it up. Have they added any new options to allow us to man them up a little?

They recently added a little leather, to go with the new GTA IV DLC.

Still no muscles, though.

Gamestop midnight release. I tried to get it early like everywhere and got shot down. My local GS has a midnight release tho and I preordered like 3-4 weeks ago.

This just in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li is bad…Oh, so bad.

Hate to say it but, I told you.

"O, Jean-Claude, where art thou? God help me, but I think that I actually enjoyed the 1994 Street Fighter movie more than this version. While the original film might be awful and campy enough to make Joel Schumacher’s Bat-films seem like The Dark Knight by comparison, it at least had some personality and MST3K-esque mock-worthiness to it. It provoked some kind of response from a viewer, which is more than can be said about this dour reboot.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is a mindless, soulless, mirthless affair, chock full of bad acting, bad dialog, and atrocious fight sequences. "

I had my doubts about the movie, but I really figured it would be bad once I heard Chris Klein was going to be in it.

Damn there is a shit load of Gamer Tags to write down, lol. Mine is P00TIE TANG 22, the o’s are actually zeros. I am currently kicking ass in Street Fighter IV.

Hey applesauce which PSN were you? I’ve had several adds because of KZ2 and forgot whose who. Would be cool if I could put notes by people’s PSN names…

LiquidJM. I wanted Applesauce, but someone beat me to it despite me registering a month after the PS3 launched.

I’ll probably change my comment message to that since I’ve added others from other boards where I use this name too.

Oh, and Killzone 2 is the shit.

I just got back from Wonder-Con, which was pretty cool.

They did an extended preview of The Watchmen and then had pretty much the entire cast answering questions after. I got there late, so I missed a large portion of what they showed and was trying to watch what was going on from outside of the room. Oh well…

After the room cleared out I was able to get a better seat for a few more previews. The showed us the trailer for a movie called Pandorum and then had a panel that featured one the stars, Ben Foster (Angel from X3 and 3:10 to Yuma). That movie looks pretty interesting. I couldn’t tell you much about it, but it’s a futuristic thriller. I kind of got an Event Horizon vibe from it, but not as much horror and a little more action oriented.

They showed us a preview for Astro Boy and then about 10-15 minutes of the new Nic Cage movie, Knowing.

We were then shown a trailer for something called Alien Tresspass which looks like it’s going to be a hilarious tribute to Sci-Fi movies from the 50’s. The panel for that movie featured Eric McCormack, Jenni Baird and Dan Lauria (the Dad from The Wonder Years). Robert Patrick was scheduled to be there, but I guess couldn’t make it.

Then, one of the big events: the extended preview of Star Trek. They followed that up a panel featuring J.J. Abrams and Zachary Quinto (SYLAR!!) answering questions. The crowd went pretty much apeshit when Sylar came out. They also had the new guy playing Kirk (Chris Pine) and the chick playing Uhura (Zoe Saldana). She is fucking gorgeous!

The preview looked pretty awesome and based on what J.J. and the actors said, I’m pretty confident that the movie is going to be great! Zach and J.J. pretty much had to field a bunch of questions about Heroes and Lost (respectively). I tried to take some pictures, but they didn’t turn out too hot.

They were going to do a panel for Terminator: Salvation a few hours later, but we unfortunately had to leave. I heard the panel was supposed to have McG and some of the actors, but I’m assuming Christian Bale was not one of them.

I tried to get some autographs, but Mark Hamill was charging $100 for just the first autograph. Yes, you saw that right. One hundred dollars for a single autograph. Carrie Fisher’s rate was $35 per autograph. Ray Park I think was only charging like $10, so his line was insane.

I saw Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine and the Honky Tonk Man. The years haven’t been kind to those two.

Courtney Gains (Malachi from The Children of The Corn) was also there. He looked pretty much like you’d expect.

Tony Todd was around somewhere, but I couldn’t find him.

I’m debating going back again tomorrow. Tomorrow is “TV Day”. Summer Glau and Shirley Manson from The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin from Chuck are scheduled to be there.
