Just saw Planet Hulk. Very good story based on the story arc. Some liberties were taken but it was a very well done animated feature. Marvel is stepping up its animated straight to DVD flicks I give this my stamp of approval.[/quote]

Wringing his hands in supervillian fashion Why yes Vash, soon our plan shall come to fruition, muhwaahahahahahahah!

Seriously though it just came out yesterday, all competition aside pick it up, it’s a great Hulk animated movie. After your done with that, then pick up “Justice League Crisis on Two Earths” Coming to DVD in March.

EDIT

Damn that was a shameless plug.

Full preview trailer will be attached to Percy Jackson and The Olympians which comes out on the 12th.

I’m sure there will be room to complain about the “ethnicity” issues with cast…but that TV spot was awesome. Hopefully everyone’s acting chops will be on par with the special effects. Shyamalan should not have to do a hack job with writing considering that the material is already laid out for him.

I’ll be in the movie theater no matter what. I quickly became a fan of that whole series and appreciated the fact that they didn’t keep the plot on “kiddie level”. All of those kids grew up over the years of that show and the story line followed suit.

It is because of the time issue that they just might screw this up.

On the show, YEARS passed. He had teachers who helped him grow up as well as his friends. They can’t do that justice in 2 or 3 hours…and I am not sure enough people were aware of this character for the seats to be filled on name alone.

Not to be Sir Buzzkillington but roughly only about 18 months past in the show.

-He got thawed out visited the Wind Temple where he grew up.
-Spoke with his past lives and they told him that Sozens comet was coming in one year.
-Then he started training his ass off.
-Had many wacky adventures.
-Then beat the Fire Lord when the comet came.

The kids did become noticably older within those 18 months in their looks and actions although.

Carry on.

You may be right, but those kids who played the voices were real kids when the show started. They grew up doing that show (the girl who played the blind Earth bender was in a horror movie I saw not too long back).

Where did you get 18 months? They tracked the comet for over a year alone.

I agree completely. I’ve read that there will be two sequels…so hopefully that can get the maturity/growth aspect from one movie to the next.

Also,I noticed Appa in upper-left corner @ 0:10.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never seen this thread before (despite it being published months ago), and it made me realize I’m not alone out there. The coexistence of the iron game and the nerd.

On that note, anyone else really sympathize with Beast sometimes?

Watching Avatar was always a guilty pleasure of mine. I really should catch up on the animated series, anybody know a website that has it?

Liked the Hulk; hope they bring the same quality to World War Hulk (or, When Hulk Gets Back, You’re All Fucked).

I’ll be getting “Crisis” definitely. Doesn’t look like it’s a straight port of Earth 2, the uber-good TPB from a few years back, but I’ll take it. Superman/Batman was great . . . but I missed the inner monologue contrasting Bats and Supes.

In other marvel comics stuff, ya’ll pick up Siege. It’s every bad guy VS Thor and the Gang.

SPOILERS

Sentry rips Ares, the GOD OF WAR in half.

This is where the show kind of becomes inconsistent. In the first season Ang gets to speak with his past life (Roku) in the spirit world for the first time. Roku tells Ang he has to go to the fire temple on the Solstice because he has an important message to give him. The very next episode he goes to the temple and learns about Souzens comet. They say that the comet is coming in one year. Then they want us to believe that the rest of the show, DAMN NEAR 4 SEASONS took place in one year. Because as we all know he defeats the fire lord the day the comet comes. So if you have them on DVD check out the first season, it should be within the first 5 episodes where the whole plot is laid out.

M Night Shammalama, is paying attention to detail. He has some shots plucked straight from the cartoon in there. My only question is why is does he have Toff in there so early? She shouldn’t make an appearance until the second movie IMO.

FUCK YOU, SENTRY! FUCK YOU!!!

At work we got some of those LCD 3d glasses and I got to demo Batman and Resident Evil in 3d. It was pretty cool! Still not perfectly 3d, some of the objects appeared 2d in 3d space and renderings have room for improvement but it has potential to be pretty good. Our video card had some trouble at times.

Interesting, Deb.

I was wondering if those cards/glasses were any good, but since the technology is new I expected some bugs.

In nerdland that’s a compliment :stuck_out_tongue:

One thing I was wondering was if it might be exhausting to play a really intense game with the 3d effect. We were also viewing it on a 22inch widescreen but I’d like to see it on a plasma. Ours didn’t have a good enough framerate so that was out.

I would definitely wait until it gets better and the bugs get worked out. If it becomes popular I think it’ll mean games will need a lot more 3d detail in the graphics rather than using textures cleverly that give the impression of 3d.

ZOMBIELAND -

My now third favorite zombie movie.
