I haven’t posted on here for a while although I do like the looks of the new site. Anyways I was reading on the ESPN website that apparently there are steroids in Golf according to Gary Player. Now whether or not there is steroids in golf means absolutely nothing to me, as I don’t follow golf much at all but here is the quote that stuck out to me from this entire article…
“Whether it’s HGH, whether it’s Creatine or whether it’s steroids, I know for a fact that some golfers are doing it,” he said.
I find it amazing that after all the steroids in baseball bullshit and now the Chris Beniot ordeal that people are still so terribly misinformed. To even mention creatine even in the same sentence as HGH or steroids is crazy!
Its sad how anything that has to do with steroids in sports is an automatic headliner even if the person who is making the claim doesn’t have the slightest fucking idea what they are talking about.
saw this too, after the initial reaction of “this guy just mentioned creatine as a steroid”, I have to think that most of those golfers to be on prescription test.
Golf is still largely played by older and out of shape people opposed to other sports (Tiger is changing that, not that he is huge, but in good shape relative to most golfers). I would think those guys have low test and are just getting standard therapy for that more than using it as a muscle gainer.
I could be wrong, I didn’t spend too much time looking into it, those were just the first 2 things that popped into my head.
They haven’t added creatine to the water supply yet?
I’m amazed that there’s even controversy about this. I had a hundred and fifty pound kid tell me he’d be benching as much as I do if he was “on” creatine, but he didn’t want his penis to shrink. I just don’t get it.
Its just funny that in the article when he is asked how he is certain people are using them Gary replied with “I know because someone I know told me that they know for a fact people are using them.”
i remember in high school my athletic director saw me using creatine after a workout and immediately scolded me, ordered a drug test and brough it about to the school board that my track records be stripped because they were not achieved through “natural” means.
his “protest” never came into fruition with the school board but i did have to take a drug test and easily passed with flying colors. some people are just absurd.
i also had a friend who refused to do any lifting or drink any protein shakes because he wanted to achieve results on the playing field through “himself” and not any “other methods”.
You know I wonder if this is going to bring suspicion towards Tiger Woods?I wouldn’t think it would but considering he is the most fit guy out there as far as I can see, you would think that even though he is a megastar he would have to be the one people would look at, which of course is horse shit.

At least he’s consistent. I’ve always said that those lifters who whine that steroids aren’t “natural” should really question how “natural” it is to spend so much time in the weightroom.

Now wouldn’t that be something. If Tiger tested positive with “tainted” supplements, like Shawn Sherk and Shawn Merriman… I’m all for testing in golf and Long Drive, what gets me in Long Drive you have guys 6’4+ 250+ naturally big and fast taking perfomance enhancements (nd I ain’t talking about fish oil and HOT-ROX). But I’m sure they won’t test unless the USGA implements it first.
With that said, I’m not surprised ESPN is overblowing the drama, just as they do every steroids scandal. (oh wait, unless it’s their precious Noo Yawk Yankees or Boston Red Sawwwxx)

Hmmm…very good reason.[/quote]
Lol…
Are there players using roids on certain tours?
Yes.
How do I know?
Been there,done that.
Do they help your game?Like you have no idea!Especially nowdays where golf has become a power game, first and foremost.
Yeah I read about this. I’m surprised he said this. At first I thought maybe he was jealous of the other players’ success, but Player was a very successful golfer, so I don’t know why he would say that.
Apparently, the president of the USGA believes Player’s statements, and is now suspicious and is considering implementing drug tests amongst golfers.
I think Tiger is safe. He was actually one of the first golfers to lift weights on a consistent basis (which is unheard of among golfers across all eras), and has put on some good size. He is by no means huge, but he definitely is bigger and in better shape.

But wait a minute! How could you forget John “Super Bench Press Tits” Daly? LOL.
(that was a jab at his flabby man-tits in case nobody got the pun)
