Okay, I’ll be putting everything together tomorrow when my hard drive comes in. After I have everything put together, is there a certain way I should test the waters?? Like leave the PC on all night or something like that?
You only have to do that if you overclock it. When you’ve installed windows and the drivers and everything seems to work, you’re all set. I’d download coretemp to see how hot the processor gets to see if you’ve mounted the heatsink right. Core Temp

HD porn, if the computer doesn’t catch on fire the time you finish, everything is good to go.

Thanks again man. I swear there so many things that go into making a computer. I can’t see how anyone keeps up with it. Now, the heatsink is which part I ordered?

Haha, no porn for this PC, just gaming!
Game is a good test too if the basics work. Last real computer hardware problem I had came up most frequently in the middle of a game vs basic use.

Alright, thanks! Kakno— I have watched them put the PC together and at the beginning they talk about how they are doing it on a metal table. They talk about like somehow frying the PC when putting it together some how. Not sure, but is there any surface I should put the PC together on?
Edit: I guess later on they say it won’t affect anything.

They are most likely concerned about static discharge possibly harming the electronic components. I’ve never really been concerned or gone out of my way when messing with computers beyond touching the metal case first before touching the components and haven’t had an issue to the best of my knowledge caused by static discharge.

Thanks, I’ll probably put it together on my table in my kitchen. I just hope everything goes well tomorrow when I try it.
Yep just touch something else metal like the case before you touch anything with circuits and you will be fine. Its more of an issue if your on carpet or something, basically anything that has potential to generate static.

x2
When you put everything together, don’t wire the cables straight from the PSU to their goal, try to go out through the hole and go back in again to try to make it look like in this vid. It’s in Swedish, but you get the idea.
Jump to 6.50.
With the cables out of the way, you’ll get a much better flow of air, and your components will be cooler and might last longer.

Thanks again! Another issue has come up. I wen to Wal-Mart and they didn’t have Windows 7. Went to Best Buy, also out. Then the guy at Best Buy tells me Windows 8 is coming out Oct. 26. So is my best bet to wait for Windows 8 or just go ahead and find Windows 7? Also, I believe I wont be able to get on the internet and purchase Windows 7 if I don’t have an OS on my new built PC.

You don’t need windows to put it all together.
How are you writing this? Phone? Could you ask a friend for help downloading win 7/8 and burning a dvd or making a bootable usb drive? Can you order a DVD online?
The only thing that impresses me about windows 8 (for a desktop computer) is the improved file transfer system. Other than that, Windows 7 is fine. It’s a great OS. You could download Windows 8 Release Preview for free, legally and see how you like it. It will probably work until they release it and by then you can probably buy a license or maybe 7 at a discount. Upgrading to 8 from 7 is supposed to be very cheap.
I wrote that on my MacBook Pro! Haha, I’m putting it together now but confused where the HD Audio goes. Also, I’m unsure where the AC,97 goes also. I also got a connector that says speaker.
Edit: I see something labeled JAUD1 but for me to get the connector there I need to stretch it to the point where it is pretty tight.
Edit: Okay, do I need to plug in the Sata6G b/s?? And if I do do they just plug into the sata ports that are right next to each other?
Also, I unplugged one of my sata cords and this little gold things came out of something. It looks like a miniature gold fork.
It looks like that little gold fork came out of the GND SLED PLED connector thing. That gold part was not being used though so I just put it back into the hole. I really hope I didn’t fuck anything up.

Is there any shortcut? It should be very easy since the motherboard is upside down compared to normal cases. One review complained they were too long. Pics.

Pics would help a lot. Are you talking about the cables from the front panel to the motherboard?
Yes, plug in the HDD via the port labeled Sata 1 and the DVD drive (if you bought one) via Sata2, switch if for some reason it doesn’t work.
Most of those ports are unnecessary. Power button and usb ports up front is what matters imo. Audio is nice if you want to plug in headphones up front, power/hdd leds are very unnecessary. But be careful.
Now I can’t fucking put in the Hard Drive!!! I don’t know how to line it up so I can screw it in. Also, I believe I have to run a cable from my Graphics card but not really sure. Kakno, if you have a skype or something I would like to try to get your help over a video chat or something. If not, we can just do it on here.
I have to go to work for about 3 hours now and I know we are on different time zones and it is late there. So, I’m pretty sure you will wake up around Midnight my time again. If you want to skype then that would be great. I check this post when I have time at work.

Can’t find that. And since mine is my real name I don’t really want to write it here for more than a minute.
