With football season coming up very soon I wanted to ask if anyone has some suggestions for healthy food to snack on during games. I’m trying to lose fat and it can be a little annoying when family and friends are scarfing down chips, pizza etc. So does anyone have any ideas? Any help would really be appreciated.
Are you talking about watching football or playing football?
Probably watching.
Veggies with hummus for dipping, baked sweet potato fries or baked kale chips. Lots of good bean dip recipes on the internet that can be used straight up or modified to fit your needs. Instead of fried chicken wings you can use hot sauce on chicken breast tenders. Fruit slices/salad. Make your own pizza to fit your macros (thinner crust, less cheese, whatever). It really depends on what kind of diet you’re following, and if you’re just trying to tidy up your eating habits or you have a serious plan you’re adhering to.
Jerky
Protein Shakes…
But seriously just eat before and after the game and man up during. I find the more creative with food people try to be while dieting the more likely they will fail. Stick to your diet plan and just exercise self-control.

If you can’t do this, than your never going to succeed.
I agree you should follow your diet plan, but this football season I’ll be snacking on home made trailmix (walnuts, almonds, dried cranberries) and well, meat and protein shakes. Bake some chicken wings or something, this isn’t that hard.

It’s the simplest answers that are oftentimes the most accurate.
Beer and pizza.
self control …
Sugar free chewing gum, gives you something to chew while everyone else is eating and can help take your mind off the fact you aren’t eating. Also I personally find most foods taste pretty bad directly after eating gum.

Playing?! Lol. That made my evening. I haven’t played organized sports since high school.
As for the main question, I guess I wasn’t quite clear and I gave the wrong impression. I’m not gnawing my fingers off craving a slice of pizza or something. Rather, I was just wondering if anyone had any out of the ordinary healthy snack recipes. It’s as much for me as the rest of my family when they come over to watch. Otherwise, I just go with the basic “have a good meal beforehand” and enjoy the game(or cuss the other team) and have dinner later on.
I suppose I should have posted this in the beginner’s forum but it was sort of a nutrition question so I posted it here. Sorry for the confusion.
