What’s your experience with Cochlear implants?
My wife is a sign language interp. I have been to many functions and you see the same scar everywhere. Outside of that, not much experience.
The moral is that bodybuilding/powerlifting/strongman/ufc/sports all take a long time to perfect with the right training and a diet filled with loads of protein and stuff. They all take years to become ready for the stage, game, or meet. Just because you lifted for 2 months without the right food doesn’t mean you are ready to pose.
There is no such thing as bad genetics, only people who dont eat right or train hard, or people who need to see an endocrinoligist like the failed bulk guy, trust me pollution can affect hormone output, find a medical centre for a blood test and take lots of vit d and stuff.
may I introduce you to the bane of mma, Kyle Maynard
This is just fucking stupid. I wish the dude (walking upright) would have kicked the amputee in the head and be done with it.
And that Maynard guy “scampering” around looks like something out of a Tool video.

I have issues with this freak show for a number of reasons, but his opponent couldnt kick him. He is considered at all times “a downed fighter”. You cant kick/knee an opponent to the head if they have a knee on the ground. I’m appalled by this but I do give the guy credit for having the guts to get in there.
I always thought Kyle Maynard competed in collegiate wrestling? I think I remember seeing training videos of him, I think videos labelled inspirational went “viral” on the web. As inspirational as it is, I’d cringe watching a fight like that.

Yep. He did fairly well in many of his matches, too.
I’m all for giving the disabled a shot at a sport they like, but that MMA fight with Kyle shouldn’t have happened. Wrestling is one thing…a.) he’s not going to get severely hurt in it, b.) the constant contact of the two wrestlers actually gives him a chance of winning and c.) due to having no arms and legs he can compete in a weight class where he is much stronger than his opponents…but in MMA, all the guy needs to do is punch him whenever he scurries up to him. I admire the guts that Kyle has, but that fight was a farce…

Thanks for the response on that. I had a follow-up question, but in hindsight it was pretty redundant.

Agreed, I think MMA is potentially very unsafe for him, especially against a ground and pound fighter (he wont be able to protect his face) or fighter with better submissions (rear naked choke hold whatever). Fights like this should never be sanctioned.
