heh, that animated CM was pretty good too. Dubya truly is an All American Jackass.

Serious question, why is it that the radio show which will feature many or all of the names in the first paragraph on that website has to be privately funded and not paid for by advertisers? All the other political radio shows except NPR seem to exist and survive on thier own merits. Just wondering why the show featuring Janeane Gerafalo, Chuck D, Al Franken and Michael Moore can’t make it on it’s own. Any answers?

Derek, we know the answer to your question as you well know. It’s obvious! My question is why do the liberals always seem to have to resort to the “F” word to get their point across? Why is it that the conservatives don’t have to resort to vulgarities all the time? Kind of makes you wonder doesn’t it? When in doubt, swear or insult!

Derek, it’s not that it “can’t” make it on it’s own. NPR stands for National PUBLIC Radio. NPR is publicly funded so that it isn’t influenced by advertisering dollars or agendas. Funding is provided by congress with no strings attached as far as political content.

Funny that a voice of opposition to the current regime is funded by the government, eh? Must be some sort of wacky “free speech” thing or something. That kind of shit drives people like Saddam and fundamentalist Christians nuts, but that’s life. Ain’t America grand?

I understand that NPR is National PUBLIC radio (although it is certainly NOT without an agenda). That is not the radio show to which I was referring. The name is Air America Radio. Now I’m still looking for my answers. I’m not looking for insults either… just answers.

Enjoy liberal radio while you can tme, because it won’t last.

The private funds will be the only thing that will keep their heads above water. Their ratings will soon be as abysmal as their respective careers. :) Just ask Phil Donahue!

One of the top guys from this independent website just joined the Kerry campaign. How’s that for independent?

Goldberg - you should expound upon your question, because I don’t know that the point you wish to make is clear.

Moveon.org is privately funded by strong minded, rich liberals. Is it so strange that someone working there, with such strong ideals, would leave a successful organization and directly help that which he wishes to “move on” toward?

He’s just heading up the web aspects of the campaign.

fyi

http://www.npr.org/about/privatesupport.html

“NPR (National Public Radio) is a private, self-supporting nonprofit media company with hundreds of independent radio stations as members. NPR receives no direct federal funding for general support. NPR supports its operations through a combination of membership dues and programming fees from stations, contributions from private foundations and corporations, and revenue from the sales of transcripts, books, CDs, and merchandise. A very small percentage - between 1-2 percent of NPR’s annual budget - comes from competitive grants sought by NPR from federally funded organizations, such as the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, National Science Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. At present, NPR’s annual operating budget is approximately $100 million a year (2002 NPR Annual Report).”
