Full fat milk

What’s all your opinion on the health effects of full fat milk. Good or bad for heart health?

I’m thinking of switching to full fat for the added calories, but I’m trying to stay as health conscious as I can through my bulk

I won’t touch any cows milk just because of the sugar but if you just looking to get extra cals have at it. No downsides unless you have an allergy. Grab a gallon of chocolate milk and go to town!!!

I’d rather drink actual milk than the chalk-flavored water that parodies itself as milk.

Full fat dairy does not seem to have much of an effect on lipid profiles or blood pressure. (See first link.). For both your health and your taste buds, enjoy!

In fact, full-fat dairy may have cardioprotective benefits, especially fermented products like yogurt and cheese (See second link, its conclusion follows.)

In summary, the totality of evidence from meta-analyses of both observational studies and RCTs does not suggest harmful effects of full-fat dairy consumption on cardiometabolic disease outcomes and associated risk factors. Results from meta-analyses and prospective observational studies suggest that fermented dairy foods, such as full-fat yogurt and cheese, may be protective against CVD [heart disease] and T2D [diabetes]. Further, in RCTs [high quality studies] yogurt and cheese consumption generally does not exert detrimental effects on blood lipids and blood pressure as would be predicted by the sodium and saturated fat contents, which may be related to effects of the food matrices of these products. Thus, the current state of the evidence, although incomplete, lacks compelling support for the recommendation to consume only low-fat and fat-free dairy and avoid full- and reduced-fat dairy foods to support cardiometabolic health. Unlike foods with low nutrient density that may be selected for taste or convenience, dairy foods are nutrient rich and provide several nutrients of concern in the US diet, including calcium, vitamin D, and potassium.

don’t wan’t to put words into the OP’s mouth, but if the “health conscious” comment is an allusion to the narrative of dietary saturated fats being harmful to cardiovascular health, then don’t worry about it. the entire premise of this claim is fictitious, totally fake, and it’s become another false idol/dogma of the low-information health scene.

That’s what I thought, but I like to check opinions. I eat plenty of animal fats etc, just wasn’t sure on milk

Do you mean full fat with the red cap, or full fat from the farm?

Ignore it.

Eat in a surplus. Keep doing what you are doing.

If it causes no issues, milk is fine.

I drink the whole milk.

You can build in a deficit and at maintenance. Calories aren’t nearly as important as the proper training stimulus. That said… A SLIGHT deficit is likely optimal.

Bulking is not a good idea. You’ll add too much fat and fluid retention only to have to lose it later.
