Have you tried SubQ injecting?

I switched to SubQ for TRT, do it twice a week. Not sure I like it.

Love it in theory but every time i do it i stop about a week later because i get several big ole welts… Usually in my lower abs. I still have the remnants of 2 SubQ injection welts from late april lol.

But yea upper quads have been great for that and in the offseason i am going to switch to SubQ when I will be injecting so much less.

Back got lit the fuck up so bad on Squats and Deads. It has been bothering me a bit last couple days but really minor. I know my shit Squat form is to blame but my options are have a Quad dominant, weaker Squat that tears up my knees OR get my Glutes and Hams into the game and tear up my lower.

If all goes according to plan I should be deadlifting once a week in 2.5 weeks and then 2 weeks after that Dead work goes from AMRAPs to Singles so all that should help.

I will also continue to work on my Squat form and mobility and Squat reps will gradually diminish the further into prep I get…or not. To still be hitting these reps late in prep I would welcome a LOT of pain.

DELT and SCUZZY Delt is def infected but I have been loading up on antibiotics and now I feel scuzzy but it is much better less than 24 hours later.

OK Going to watch Lebron Game 7 replay…NO SPOILERS LOL I already know, LeThanos kills everybody after Tatum thought he went Beast Mode on the King.

Cant wait until LBJ is on Philly next year.

BREAKDOWN:

  • Cavs incompetent with shit roster that cant improve, will not stay
  • Rockets would have to get rid of too much to sign LBJ so the team would have the same issue all LBJs teams have had (too top heavy).
  • LA Lakers…dark horse, they would need to sign at least 1 other Superstar for this to even begin to be plausible as LBJ is not going to a full rebuild in his twilight hours…plus Lavar
  • Boston, my personal favorite just to say ā€œFk you Kyrieā€ whom I think has 0 self awareness. Boston would have to trade Kyrie to sign LBJ and that would be hilarious…never going to happen but funny.
  • Philly, young growing but accomplished pieces who can D and LBJ said he wants to play off the ball and this team he would need to (Simmons cant shoot yet). This would ensure he spends another 4 years in the Finals.

Philly and Houston are his best options to beat GSW immediately, slight edge Houston maybe but Philly is the better overall fit.

In fareness LA, and Houston he would be playing primarily off the ball as well as in Philly. Off the ball I think is just LBJ’s way of saying he will share better than he did with Kyrie…even though Kyrie took a million more shots with an insanely higher Usage %…yea Kyrie has 0 self awareness. Plus, Earth is round Bro.

Back wasnt great while walking to the gym so threw in some crunches as a hail mary. My abs were already sore from Squats but it helped so time to kick up my core work I guess. Anything I can do to make it through the next 2.5 weeks before Deads go to once a week.

Back in Biz: I am selling off a bunch of old product basically at cost but I am going to flip that money into a barbell. That has to be about as bro as it gets. As soon as I get a place to work I am going to start manufacturing again. I underestimated my opportunity here. People always want to try the new stuff so if I can supply quality that will be all it takes.

Back is still lit GD Damn it is better than yesterday but walking to the gym was not pleasant. Benching actually made it better though. Later I will go through this log and find out what I did to fix it besides losing weight and getting walked on. For now going to train abs, keep up the mobility and add in more variety of stretches.

Yea everything went wrong today. To summarize I woke up damn near hypoglycemic and stuffed my face until it was time to go to the gym where I got stuck in my belt after almost puking because like an idiot I tried the 5 hole again. It took 2 people to get me out and I never recovered enough to get a good set in for Squats. Call it a deload.

Now I am sitting at my laptop with a protein shake, a jar of PB, jar of jelly and a loaf of bread the same way you see depressed alcoholics in movies with a bottle of booze and a glass of ice LOL. I earned this…just not today.

*depressed alcoholics or me in my 20s…so I guess depressed alcoholics, shit LOL.

The worst part is I am not nearly lean enough to be having issues with energy yet LOL…although physique is coming in. OK nap time.

Physique looked good this morning especially in the Quads. Every time I get some new definition it reminds how much fatter I must actually be. Mid section is fuzzy and always the last to come in. I have a feeling on the platform I will never look better, be stronger or feel worse LOL.

I had every intention of taking today off buuuut I am me. Delts have been sore a lot lately and I had come to the conclusion I just needed a day off but then instead I decided to go hammer Heavy Rows and they feel better. I love a lot of things about Dumbell Rowing but for me it just isnt enough to balance Bench Pressing. I think that is a large reason I have had so much delt pain lately. This week will tell me more.

ANOTHER CLEAN EATS RANT I am eating so fkn clean only about 2400 calories but I am never hungry. Truthfully I am kind of force feeding my last meal most days. If I just have a small cheat here or there (even a protein shake) it changes everything.and my appetite goes through the roof and then so does my waist line.

For now I am going to enjoy this and lean out a bit but most likely at about 7 weeks out I am going to do what it takes to bump the calories. That takes me into my last 3 week mini Block before the 4 week specification and taper phase.

OK HAPPY SUNDAY going to grub with the fam and watch some Finals later tonight.

Over the weekend I was doubting my Quality over Quantity approach especially after the Thursday Squat workout (despite that being completely unrelated to programming or strength). Now my confidence is high AF.

Form was better today, back has been better than it was and reps are exceeding expectations. Out of the Pause Squats, mobility and ab training something is working. Probably a bit of all of it.

Going to nap then go back in with Wifey to train her while I do most likely Curls. She has been crushing PRs too.

1s Program Adjustment: Dropping Bench working sets to 3 (from 5 on light day and 6 on Heavy). My delts are just chronically fried in a very uncomfortable way. I hope this will help them recover a bit better and I will put the extra energy into prehab work.

Physique + RX: Lower Abs and Veins are starting to show up and now I am beginning another 10ish day mini cycle of Superdrol. Very excited to see how I do with the injectable version and where my physique is at in another 10ish days.

DIet: Performance is progressing despite leaning out (body weight is a very consistent 99kg) and I am force feeding my last meal just a little bit. Monday and Thursday (Squat/Dead Days) I have turned into higher calorie days by eating beef instead of chicken but even that is still under 3k cals. Low days are ~2400 and very low fat and high carb so I think that is what is keeping my performance up. Once I feel ā€œoptimizedā€ in regards to BF% and body weight I will work a little harder on a higher calorie intake but until then I am going to enjoy not starving while leaning out.

In a way I am kind of jealous I dont get the performance boost most do from weight gain because bulking is so much fun but at the same time what makes bulking so much fun for me is my probably unhealthy love of food. So in these rare periods of satisfaction I have to take full advantage.

LOWER BACK: Wasnt great this morning so I am going to spend as much of the day in bed broken up with mobility work every few hours. Very big day for me in the Squat rack tomorrow. I will be patient…and ready. HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!

I wrote this post about the lifter’s Bench program and then deleted it (because I know that nobody wants to hear a nobody question elite level PLers and their elite level programming) but now I cant help myself after seeing the same(ish) workout for Squat.

Elite AF PLer being coached by top level coach is ~10-9 days out from IPF Worlds worked up to a heavy single on Squat and Bench and then did a 4x4 and 4x5 as back downs respectively.

I understand the concept of accumulating fatigue in the offseason to create adaptation. I do NOT understand accumulating non specific fatigue 10 days out for the sake of accumulating fatigue.

I think a lot about the Dogma’s in PLing (and life in general) and one of those that bothers me is the idea that your CNS or muscles will super compensate to help you move heavier weights on the platform after the correct amount of time has been rested for.

Ironically it is generally accepted that nobody is getting stronger 1-2 weeks out but somehow this super compensation will make you…stronger? That super compensation happens every time we move a weight. That compensation (aka adaptation) is the entire reason we move weights in the first place.

The CNS is basically a battery attached by wires to the muscles. Even if you could overfill your phone battery it isnt going to send signals to Mars or even any further than it does normally. I do understand that a low battery (or muscles that arent fully recovered) will negatively affect performance but this is where programming comes in.

What a CNS and muscles can do is be trained to produce larger surges of energy recruiting larger amounts of muscle at a time by teaching it to do so. This is the entire concept of accumulating volume and tapering that into sport specific training and lastly displaying that strength on the platform in the form of the heaviest of singles.

So I ask again, WHAT the FK is the point of a 4x4 9 Days out?

(Funnily enough this coach also did not know that mixed grip creates different length arms though…yes my battles with deadlift grips run deep LOL)

I was feeling pretty proud of my workout today until I saw a video of my really good friend walking for the first time since his near fatal car accident. It kind of puts things in perspective. The crash and seeing him in the hospital bed with a weight hanging off his leg to keep his femur separated so his tendons didnt shrink, my butt puckered thinking about it today. Not an exaggeration. This was 3.5 months ago. So with that my severely less impressive workout :smiley:

I corrected most of the mistakes I made last week. Only mistake that carried over was I tried to put my belt on the 5 hole again which made it so I could not even brace…so 505 for 7 with no brace. The 4 hole feels like 0 support and the 5 is too tight to brace…not even sure how this is possible LOL.

Overall Health is above and beyond what I would have expected. I havent had an NSAID in I dont know how long. Back pain is here and there but very manageable and same with my knee. Having said that I can not wait to be done with these volume Dead days even if it is just 3 working sets.

The reason this set took so long is because i kept fighting through the sensation of my heart trying to come up my throat… Which i dont think that is how it works (#notadoctor) but that is how it felt. Lets see if next week i will resist the urge for the 5th hole LOL

A note about BBers. JJ who has his own gym in Tulum (with his Wife Michele, we competed together in Chetumal IPF and conversed often at Evolve) and we were always pretty close in weight he absolutely dwarfs me in person. You see him in photos and you are like he isnt that big and then you see him in person and damn. The point of this is Reagan would absolutely dwarf JJ and Reagon would look like me next to Phil Heath or Kai or Big Ramy. It is kind of cool and awe inspiring to have an idea just how massive these people are.

and then of course Brian Shaw makes them all look like natty children.

Meat Head Meet Investigations:

New lifter on the scene (for me) Harold Gonzalez deadlifted 635 for 2. Squat looks good but no idea numbers and i have no idea if he is lifting at WPC.

Pikis is playing softball and doing pause squats…if that doesnt scream rehab i dont know what does.

Israel hit a 290 squat in wraps with much improved depth. Hard to tell from the camera angle but probably not there yet. Also it seems his program is max out every workout so i should know exactly what he will do on the platform :slight_smile:

(To keep my capabilities s secret i am actually considering going 0 dark 13 for the last 4 weeks…LBJ calls this 0 dark 23 and it is when you stays off social media for the playoffs or similar)

I meant to leave a little extra in the Squat tank and 10 at 425 should have been but it wasnt.

Then Deads I just faded hard AF down the stretch and came up 3 reps shy of what I wanted.

For right now I am going to consider this not enough calories finally catching up to me.

My stomach has been kind of fkt. Like it just doesnt want to digest food. It feels like I eat something and it sits in my stomach for eternity. I think maybe my super low fat diet maybe caught up to me or maybe I have been eating too much sugar free junk and that has crashed my gut flora or possibly just not enough calories in general and everything is slowing waaaaay down. Or possibly a bit of everything.

I ate some yogurt and that seemed to help. I am also going to look for sauerkraut, pickles and other probiotics to add to the diet.

CRINGE, I will see if I can find some sugar free orange juice to get on the vertical diet LOL. I cant believe I am struggling to get in calories…and then using orange juice to get them. #PeteRubish …watch the last Hook Grip video to see why that is relevant. (Dont worry I time stamped it.)

OK, off to the store.
