Think back to why you logged on in the first place, all those years ago. It was to learn, right? WHo did you learn from? The vets. What happens if all the vets leave?
I too logged on to learn. Learn I did, and now I have the privilege of being ‘wise’ enough to help others.
That has to mean something to you FG, or you wouldn’t have taken the time and effort to create your thread.
SO I know you like to help others.
Hold onto that thought as you wade through the BS. Not every thread can be a nugget of gold. Most are just ‘the same old, same old’ and some are piles of turd. But that’s the same in any walk of life. You have to put up with the mundane and the repetitive to be able to appreciate the good things.
You can learn to ignore the crap. You just have to develop your inner monkey so that you can just chuckle and shake your head at stupidity, rather than getting frustrated. People (including me, most certainly) will ALWAYS be stupid in certain aspects of their life. It’s nice to be able to help them get over that stupidity or ignorance.
Something else that is worth remembering is that you only get out what you put in. Now you have put in quite a lot, granted, but for me, it’s more a case of ‘dripfeeding’ rather than intense effort. A little bit every day, rather than a lot, all at once.
In short, I would say “Persevere, my friend, because there are plenty who need your help”
