5/3/1 W1D1
Great session. Press Day.
For my top weight set, I hit 46KG / 101lbs for 12 reps. Last rep was a real grinder and was glad to hit it. This was followed up with five sets of Dumbell Bench, Krok Rows and Tricep Pushdowns in the 10-20 rep range. Finished up with some hanging leg raises (toes to bar). I like what Wendler says about this movement. When you do controlled toes to bar leg raises, there’s no need to ask about sets and reps, your abs (and grip) will tell you.
Nutrition wise: a good day was had. I had ‘crack oatmeal’ twice today,a recipe I picked up from Dan John, made overnight using the slow cooker. Thick oats, lots of fruit, whey protein and cinnamon. Good stuff. Dinner was chicken, rice and salad!

Hey crew - hope everyone is well.
Haven’t checked in a while. Life getting in the way.
Training updates:
As much as I like the idea of 5/3/1, I have learned that I don’t have the patience for percentage based training. So re-assessing at the moment and just training by feel/pushing weight reps where I can. Feels decent and enjoying not overthinking it at all.
Also started Jiu-Jitsu recently, which I am a total beginner to. My first session was the other day and I have never felt soreness in my neck the way I do at the moment. I realized how unconditioned I am also, as the sparring destroyed me. Good.
It’s a Saturday now - taking it easy here. Shitty weather so drinking coffee and watching Alex Leonidas on Youtube. I enjoy his thoughts about training. Will hit a session later on and update accordingly.
Hope everyone is getting after it.
