It’s all apart of evolution.
The duck-billed platypus proves without a doubt that evolution couldn’t have happened.
Ok, I have to put in my $.02 worth here.
In the bible, specifically genesis, where does a day get defined? Today, we know a day to be 24 hours, but in actuality, it is more like 23 hours 56 minutes or something like it. Was this the case when God created the world (if you believe that)? We will never know.
Now, for those of you who say we have to “prove” that God exists, we have to go through the scientific process. We first must hypothesize, then test, then rehypothesize, then retest, etc. then it becomes theory, and theory eventually becomes law. Since we can only hypothesize and not test, it is not theory. It is only a hypothesis. It just so happens that this hypothesis is believed by millions around the world. The same goes for buddhism, hinduism, islam, etc. There is only hypothesis, not theory.
Personally, I respect all who believe in whatever God or Gods they choose. I believe in God, and I will not deviate from that. Those who are other religions believe in their God(s), and they have my respect. In fact, I actually like to learn about other religions just so I don’t come across as religiously ignorant and am able to formulate intelligent questions about that person’s specific religion.
Believe what you want and in who you want. That is all.
First, Thunder, I do apologize, I reread and am sorry.
Second, whoever said Baruch Spinoza proved God’s existence is wrong, Spinoza was refuted by Kant.
I do,however, believe in a God; I just don’t use religion since it is a manmade institution.
Who says the Universe is infinte? I’ve been reading up on universal topology. Basically you can get unlimited movement on a finite plane. The example I’m going to use is simple and only useful in 2 dimensions…lets call them x and y. ![]()
This may be hard to understand without a picture. Imagine a hollow torus(donut) and that your moving around on the inside of that torus…basically you have unlimited movement in the x and y planes…however no z movement. Now apparently some smartass scientist has a way of showing unlimited z movement as well. Something about a 3d object that exists in 4 dimensional space. BOOM!!! That was the sound of my head exploding!!! Just so we don’t close our minds to the possiblity that the universe may be finite. ![]()
Yes restless I know about the uncertainty principle. The theory is still sound though. Just because todays math cannot zero in on position and velocity at the same time does not mean that they don’t exist or that we will never know them. Edward Witten himself has even admitted that the mathematics needed for the Grand Unification Theory has not been invented/discovered yet.

But what’s beyond the border then. there has to be something there. Even if there nothing there should be space and space is something. It can’t be finite.
Restless. We’re not talking a simple “border” here. Pm me and I’ll get a bit more indepth with it. However I myself am not an expert in spacial topologies but I should be able to explain in relatively well. ![]()
