As for me going more to your way of thinking I can’t say it won’t happen but I doubt it. I try and keep a very open mind about everything. This is not an attack but I don’t think your mind is as open as mine. Got me? Good. As for you I’ve also changed my opinion. I used to think you were a complete prick. Heheh. But recently you’ve posted with humour and had some good things to say about Canada. Also I should make this clear I’m not anti-american it’s just that I don’t think america is perfect. Montrosefan, can’t you guys just take a break for a few minutes from trying to convert us all. I’m not saying hell is real or it isn’t becuase I don’t want to get involved with the people on either side of the discussion. This sign reminds me of a funny sign I saw last year during “Pride Week”.
I was driving down the street and passed a Catholic Church with a sign that said “Pride is one of the deadliest sins”…it seemed to be well (or poorly?) timed. I laughed my ass off.

DanC…actually…the Christian God…the one and only TRUE God…revealed Himself to us in scripture. Your right in one way: He wishes NONE of His creations to suffer in Hell for eternity. Some might think that He should just wipe you out of existence instead of Hell. But that would be far worse and God is not capricious. He would not utterly destroy His creations. That is why God came to earth cloaked in human flesh and paid the price for your sin. Its a FREE gift! If you choose to reject it dude…thats your choice…it doesn’t hurt me in the least. I am secure in my salvation. I would rather see others go to Heaven instead of Hell. But…thats your choice. I am not offended of your choice…no matter what that may be. If it sucked being a Christian…and then on top of that there was no payoff in Heaven…I maybe could see your point. But neither of those situations are true! Actually…following Gods laws makes life a bunch easier! Its sometimes harder not to give in to things you know are wrong…but Im spared alot of grief by doing things Gods way. Believe me…Ive been a rebel before also! Ive learned Gods way works tons better!

Religion is not my topic. I never think about religious issues and as such have nothing to say on the subject except for my own opinion.
All I have to say about the subject that can be taken literally is this: I dont believe in it.

Montrose, that logic of believing “just incase” Christianity is true is such a contradiction to the whole meaning of Christianity, I am amazed that you would don’t see this. There are so many various types of fundamentalists out there from so many religions that want you to believe their brand of religion… according to your logic, I should then believe in all of them, just incase one of them is right. Not only that, but that should not be the reason that ANYONE has faith in a religion. Is that why YOU believe in Christ? Only out of fear? Guess what, you are not in the minority of Christians. One of the big problems I have with Western Christianity is its use of fear tactics to create its believers and keep them in line. I guess I can see the benefit on a mass scale, because fear of punishment from God is often better deterence from crime for many, much moreso than any punishment on the mortal plane.

JPFitness…does fear motivate me to be a Christian? NO way…it just happens to be true. That was enough for me. I will say that the fear of hell and punishment is not a stupid thing however. Fear of punishment is effective in modeling human behavior. Thats the way we are wired…to seek pleasure and avoid pain. So…it is a motivator…but it ISN"T the prime motivator for me and neither is it for any of my friends…in that case…we would get saved…and live through grace alone…and not try to lead “real” Christ like lives!

The bad guy list is fluid. It is a continuim. People moderate their stance and drift toward the Good Guy list. arcanecocaine is a prime example. He has shown himself to be both humorous and willing to acknowlege the Good Guy point of view. This moves him from the pit, toward the light. That is why I continue to insist that the Good Guys have a role on these forums. We do make a difference. At the very least, we encourage the bad guys to think. However, there are some people (restless) who never think. Everything is based on a deep and abiding hatred/jealousy of the United States. You will see that everything he writes is both inflammatory and unreasonable. He is the quinessential bad guy. He will always make the list that I type up as an example.
arcanecocaine, I continue to be pleasantly surprised by you. In principle, I do not think the United States is a perfect state. However, as a whole, I am extremely proud of her. I bristle when people take what I consider to be unwarranted shots. An example would be that we invaded Iraq for oil. I find this ridiculous. We would not be rebuilding their government on the premise that the Iraqi government will eventually take over. Another comment that brings an instant an overwhelming response from me are those idiots that maintan that we invaded Iraq “because the United States are conquerors.” That is assnine. My response is: If we were trully conquerors, we would just conquer everyone we disagreed with. No one could realistically stop us. If we really just attacked because we are “conquerors,” why build an Iraqi government and leave?

I appreciate your support and your place among the Good Guys has long been established. Here is to the continuing fight against hypocrites/morons=bad guys.
I still don’t agree with this goodguy/badguy crap. I feel that kuri, lumpy and US=GG…etc. are all people that want good to prevail. It’s just that they have conflicting views of what is going on. This goodguy/badguy mentality isn’t helping anything.
