Football 2005

I’m really not happy with my Browns! Getting spanked at home by the Bungles. It looks like its going to be another LONG season. How can their defense get worse every year? Why does it seem that the Browns can’t get a #1 pick to perform???
Where are they now:
Tim Couch?
Courtney Brown?
Gerard (Big Money) Warren?
Kellen Winslow?
Braylon Edwards - granted its too early to comment on him, but get to camp in time to be able to contribute from game 1.
I hope they trade #1 from now on for current players.

ALright lads, the season is started. My fantasy picks seem to have bombed a bit, but my Giants kicked ass today. Looks like a good year for New York!

Yeah, unless you’re a Jets Fan! Freakin’ Pennington!

I’m glad the chiefs won, but I felt kind of bad cheering/laughing every time Chad dropped the ball. Its like the guilt I get from laughing at special olympic boxing.
Wait…there’s special olympic boxing? This may be the greatest news I have ever heard.

If Bledsoe has to throw any more than he did, the Cowboys will be in trouble.

If they can limit his pass attempts to 15 per game and run the ball, they may do well.
I don’t know where the 15 attempts/game figure comes from, but if the O-line will give him time I think he can have a banner year. He’s got wide-outs out the butt, and an all-pro tight end. All he needs is what he never got in Buffalo - protection.

My Dolphins did great, if we keep playing ball like this, and lessen the turnovers, once Ricky returns it should one hell of a season.
Your being sarcastic right?

Goddamnit!! Lost this week in Fantasy by two friggin points!! Damn you Michael Vick!

You shouldn’t be relying on Vick as your starting QB anyway. Good luck with that though.

How bout those Colts? It sure could be thier year. Love him or hate him (how could you hate him?) Manning is the man. I can’t think of a single player who is more entertaining to watch, except maybe Farve in his prime. But an MVP QB and high octane offense doesn’t win championships. Watching them Sunday night, I can’t say their defense was that bad. Of course any given team can win any given day, there are maybe two or three teams in the NFL as good as the Colts.

whatever. colts’ defense roolz. they showed it during the championship last year and they’ll show it in the SB this year.

I am not sure how many attempts Drew had in week one, but Parcells always wants to keep the attempts in this range.

The more Bledsoe has to throw the more he will get sacked. I think this is closer to an exponential function rather than linear.

They really beefed up the D between seasons and the draft was almost nothing but defensive players and as long as Manning and Harrison are going at 100% i see the Colts having their best season yet.

The Colts are going to be super dangerous, that is a fact.

The Colts will also be beaten by the Pats in the Playoffs, that is my prediction.

As far as the Chargers are concerned, I think they’ll take care of business. They lost a couple games early last year as well. They have the 2nd most dangerous offence besides the Colts and thier defence will improve once Castillo and Merriman become more comfortable and make less rookie mistakes. Remember that Antonio Gates rode the pine the entire game and Cam Cameron’s (offensive corrdinator) game plan reflected that. That being said, I hate being a Charger fan in this town. These are the most mish-mosh pussy ass fans you’ll ever meet. I don’t know what it is, I can’t put my finger on it, but these fans don’t bleed charger blue they drink it out of little plastic wine glasses at tailgates…

The Bronco’s got totally punched in the mouth last week, but they’re too talented not to snap back and be competitive. I watched the game on the west coast feed and the score doesn’t really represent thier play. Miami got a couple of scores late in the game (Jason Taylor’s runback was cool) so don’t sell the Bronc’s out so quick. Everyone is talking Chiefs, but remember, Larry Johnson is in more trouble, and the Chiefs have a history of coming out of the gate like a stallion and ending the season like an old nag.

Man, I love football… This is the best time of the year!

True.

I was kind of hoping last year would have kept the band wagon fans away for awhile, but I think people are talking for a reason. The thing that sucks is that we won’t be able to tell if the defensive play was fluke or not for a few weeks. I don’t care how good or bad the Raiders or Broncos are any given year, those games are always so close.

My upset for the week:

San Francisco - 17
Philly - 12

How bout them Giants! They’re actually looking like a football team. And the Jets won too…good week for Jersey.
