I wouldn’t call this food porn, necessarily, but it was so, so good. I’ve been all about this Afghan salad lately (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, cilantro, lemon juice and salt). Everything’s been in season and it’s so fresh, in addition to being quick ‘n’ easy. I’ve just used jarred curry sauce for the chicken, which is fine given that it’s just a seasoning by the time I pile the veggies in.
My tossed together breakfast
Salmon, seaweed, noodles, ginger, beets, red onion, lime and lemon juice. Forgot the furikake. Skipped the soy today, and no coconut aminos either.
This was not made by me obviously, but it was one of the most amazing things I ever tasted, foie Gras at Bouchon at the Venetian Hotel in Vegas, a few nights before I went to the Olympia. I can still recall the taste in my mind.
This was the Christmas my in-laws went nuts for. They usually go all out, but that year was over the top! All homemade.
Whooaa!
An acre of surf and turf!
It was the most exhausting holiday event I’ve ever experienced!
I’m just assuming it’s a big family, cuz if there were only 6 or so of you, well that would be fine too. It would just take longer to finish.
Lol. Yes, they’re a big family and many visitors that year, 2017. There was a Christmas Day breakfast and a Christmas Eve dinner too. Plus other preceding Christmas related events throughout the month. It took me a full week to recover from social burnout. It still does. I do appreciate all of it though.
We had some big holidays when I was kid. With 14 brothers and sisters in my grandfathers family, 13 in my grams, and innumerable kids and grandkids the holiday visiting lasted a few days.
I can relate.
That looks amazing! Reminds me of an old coworker that used to bake one cake for every year he was turning, but those pictures do not look as appetising as this!
Look at all these delicious gainz for the week. Hoping one of these creatures turns my arms into something resembling a muscle ![]()
What’s near the meat?
What! No squirrel?
Got a cold front making its way through now (it’s 65*f) so all the yummy critters are hard to find.
The block thing? Potatoes!
Bam! Shrimp kebabs ready in less than ten minutes. The skewers cover the length of my kettle grill so no need for grates while I make them. I used the chili lime rub from Trader Joe’s and avocado oil. Simple but amazing!
