Gnocchi with tomato sauce and nduja
Tell me as much as you’d care to write out!
I’d ask about your strategies for producing meals in bulk but I’m not sure that that is what you do? I tend to cook staples for the work week that hold over nicely and add fresh stuff in on demand or when my schedule affords me to do so but I’m always on the lookout for more ideas and solutions.
Right now my biggest challenge is mise en place in a half-size kitchen.
And needing new pans, any recommendations? Ones that sear well without needing too much oil for instance. Been looking at greenpan and great jones (but the latter are, alas, not sold here yet)
Got some ground moose that had its due date yesterday, combined it with a little bit of everything else I’ve cooked today. The pumpkin turned out fantastic as I boiled it in a chicken broth that I’d also cooked two+ pounds of pork in. It was as if it had been fried in bacon grease.
Blueberry sauce on top!
It’s sunday night at 8:07pm. I’ve been busy/lazy all weekend and haven’t meal prepped so it’s either fire up the grill or eat out ![]()
I’m also grilling on the front porch in just my boxers ![]()
Food porn in the making

Wow! Wish it was my birthday!
Looks really tasty! Can I ask please how much meat and sweet potatoes do you eat in one meal, on average? Thank you very much
I eat anywhere from 1/4lb-1lb of meat in one meal depending on the week and the meals I’m making.
For potatoes usually 1 large sweet or regular potato in a sitting.
thanks for responding! I always struggle to get some food in and to gain weight but I hate to eat every two or three hours. Can I also ask please how do you get your fats in? Do you add fats to your meals or do you only eat the fats in the meat? Thanks for your help
Today’s schedule didn’t allow me to eat the normal number of meals I usually consume so I had to make up for the lack of food by having a really big dinner. Enter this giant plate of rice with ground beef, tomato sauce + fresh tomatoes, covered in melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese. (Seriously though, the angle of the picture makes it hard to realize how much stuff that actually is.)
I’m missing sweet potatoes… I haven’t been able to find them for months here. Hopefully they’ll come back soon as fall begins.
Got this little cluster of sulphur shelf this morning. Super dry year. Usually by this time I’m swamped with sheep’s heads and giving them away. This year, nothing.
Just have to figure out something to make now.
Thanks! That looks really good, and that blog might be a great resource for me.
