Made some non- fancy food for mum
Pan fried shrimp with kimchi marinade (kimchi juice, oyster sauce, sugar, garlic, ginger) paired with rye flatbread (flour, rye flour, water, kefir, baking powder, salt) and garlic aioli

Seasoned the pan drippings with ¼ cup lemon juice, ¼ cup water, ginger, garlic, onion, a little rosemary, anise, cardamom & black pepper. Green stuff is sage, oregano & basil.
Red potatoes are going in shortly.

The only thing I find more difficult than not breaking into the crock pot before its ready is letting a dough rise.

Seems like a reusable coffee filter works very well. I think I should have been more patient and let the curds sit in the mould for longer.
Once they’re more dried, I’ll rub one of them with ground mustard and sezchuan peppercorn, wrap in buttered cloth and age for a month

On another note, I got the Albertson’s buy one meat and get two free and got all of this for $43.00. Not sure if yall have Albertsons but see if they have this deal.

A grocery near me sometimes has deals on pork, with larger quantities at like .79- $1.29 per lb.. Best ever was .49 per lb. I came home with 40 lbs. of pork chops. My wife thought I went insane until she saw the price. Then she was just miffed about a years supply of chops and where we were going to keep them.

I am not sure if all Albertsons does this, but where I live, on the first Thursday of every month, our Albertsons gives customers 10% of the total price of everything in their cart if they (you) are 55 or older. The kicker is you also get the sales price on any item that is on sale that day. So, all your on sale items, plus ten percent off your cart.

It totally does! Obviously we’d all rather view your prep porn than mine, as your porn is more like a major Hollywood sex scene than the amateur smut I deliver, but it all has its place!
