Food Porn Thread

We recently started watching My Kitchen Rules, an Australian cooking competition, and I kinda got motivated/inspired to try something funkier and fancier than usual.

Coconut curry chicken thighs using a madras curry powder I’d gotten a while back. Ginger cauliflower rice-white rice mix. Kale with diced onions cooked in coconut oil.

Everyone in the house said it was a winner. Would go even harder on the spices next time to get them to really pop out more.

A brief and informal survey:

Saurkraut on the potatoes or no?

Obviously, I like on the potatoes. :yum:

Simple answer: yes

Over complicated answer: the acid in the sauerkraut balances out the richness of the potatoes

No. Side-by-side and combined on the fork so that you can have bites of meat and either potatoes or kraut as well as all three. Fork mixing allows for much more nuanced dining.

good point

however, if it’s on the side, the distribution of kraut juices in/on to the potatoes gets dicey

Meat in the middle.

I can’t really tell what the meat is in the photo, but it appears more like pork chops than kielbasa, which is a shame.

I think pork chops are optimal for this set up

I like keilbassa in a drier setting, not covered with juices. tender pork chops covered in kraut juices are magic

Its pork. I think its part of the rib general area, AKA, city chicken.

No more kielbasa or virtually any type of sausage for me anymmore unless its custom blended/low sodium.

I did cheat around Christmas and had a Primanti’s Capone, but it was potatoes and airdyne for a week after that:

Pic taken from google images. Hot sausage, capicola, salami, etc.

Atrocious but awesome.

Seriously, @tlgains—I was hungry before I read this. Then he says, “Primanti’s,” and posts a picture.

I miss good venison. It’s very hard to get in Florida.
