I’ll be going through Chicago’s O’Hare airport next month and have 3 hours before I go on to Winnipeg and am hoping that there’s some great barbecue or Chicago style pizza or something else good to eat at the airport.
Yeah yeah, I know Chicago is not well known for barbecue, but I’m coming from Asia and haven’t ever been farther south in the US than Minneapolis!
For a good deep dish pizza, you want Pizzaria Uno or Reggio’s (Uno is better). If I remember correctly Uno’s is at Gate B and Reggio’s is at Gate K, but I could be wrong. They have directories all over the place, though. It is not quite the same as going to one of the better pizza places in the city, but still pretty damn good.
for BBQ, I don’t remember there being any actual BBQ joints there, but there are bars and pubs that have some BBQ on the menu. O’Hare Bar and Grill is my usual spot. Good food and a decent selection of beer and other drinks. It is on Concourse G. Come to think of it, that might be where Pizzaria Uno is as well.

Good point man. I am definitely spoiled. I don’t think I’ve ever had a meal in an airport that I would consider “good”, and I used to travel for work all the damn time.
I’ve been is Asia long time, and am wasting away to an elephant!
I mean I am even excited about new kinds of chewing gum ( goes with the avatar) and other candy. I mean every time I go home it’s wonderful how many new products there are!
I go through O’Hare quite often. I am only familiar with concourse C though. The Uno’s there only has single serving pizzas and they are terrible. There are a few restaurants that look okay but I haven’t tried them because they are always crowded. There is a sushi bar near where the concourses come together. It seems a little pricey but maybe not for Chicago.

The one on Concourse C closed down if I am not mistaken. The one on Concourse G is a full restaurant. Here is the menu Nards.

I just checked and I was in terminal E/F not C so you may be right about the one in C closing. I was just there a month ago and the one in E is still there. The vendor also sells hot dogs. Stay away from the pizza there. Find the one on G if you want the good stuff. I will have to make the walk to G next time I fly through there.
Some airports might have a decent place but in general airport food is the worst because you are stuck there so they can make any quality of food and charge a high price for it.
There are a couple Goose Island bars in O’Hare if I remember, other local breweries are Three Floyd’s, Two Brothers, Pipeworks is a newer one around, not sure if many places will have any of their stuff on tap, and Half Acre brewery is starting to have a few places serve their offerings on tap. Not sure what kind of beer you like but those are some of our local brewers.
