I’ll say it again. This forum needs a crowd laughter button under each post. The one-liners are strong today.
Whelp, posting time at the senior center must be up. I was hoping for a “as usual, your comment adds nothing” from our friend. Same time tomorrow, gents?
Lol is this guy really in his 50s? He sounds like a smart alecky teen.
That’s exactly what someone arguing from the accepted corporate sponsored framework would say. Domino motherfucker.
I remember him posting it a while back (years ago). I can’t find it. Just found this gem, though:
Calls people stupid can’t do basic math. Unreal.
Damn I was trollin Zep even back then, shshhhh
Meh. Good intentions are all you need.
Yup, followed the evidence that you just wanted to be brainwashed all over again because thinking independently was hard. It’s cool though, whatever floats your boat.
Even if we took 100% of the current budget for the military and put it all into healthcare with 100% efficiency we would not fully fund the system.
Maybe, if we were lucky, we’d be able to get a couple years funded. Probably not.
And also, we clearly need SOME military budget to defend ourselves so cutting to zero is not feasible.
Best case, single-payer is $2T/year budget. Certainly not gonna get that from the $7B defense budget.
Buttttt we get so much of it from being able to absolve Medicaid, Medicare, va, etc rememberrrrr

Lol, I know right? I just don’t get that argument for universal healthcare. In my opinion “saving money” is NOT the UHC hill to die on, because it ain’t gonna happen.
There are reasons that UHC may be a reasonable solution (I don’t like it but that doesn’t mean there aren’t reasons), but that sure ain’t one.
Oh I wasn’t saying that you were being mean to him. It’s that you say he’s a brainwashed republican, when he isn’t.
I mean anyone can be accused of being brainwashed - it’s not that. He has said though that he isn’t a republican. He isn’t what you used to be. You talk at him as if you understand him better than you really do. While he might be doing the same with you it hasn’t jumped out at me yet.
He says you’re too dumb to comprehend and you say the same about him. I doubt that in both cases. You seem stuck though. What’s the point in blasting on the entire forum? Even if you are 100% correct on all you’re views - you wouldn’t make much of a difference in the world if you completely convinced all of us. You don’t seem to be here to convince people, and I don’t think you are trolling. What’s the point?
You might not have marching orders, but you do follow your beliefs.
I read different points of view and follow the majority of evidence wherever it leads. While most others just follow their marching orders and beiefs
Have you realized that reading different points of view is comprehended within the set of beliefs that you hold?
Whatever beliefs you hold effects how you interpret the evidence. So like everyone else, you actually are following your beliefs. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, specifically.
Trust me, I wish I could forget… lol
One of Zep’s problems, is that, in his mind, all issues are black and white when we all know every issue is shades of gray.
Take Stem Cells for example, if they are an effective treatment option for ______ aliment, great! I’m 100% on board with using your own cells to treat aliments. However, imo, prescribed treatment options need to go through an approval process overseen by an authoritative body because most people, me included, do not have the information or knowledge to properly analyses the efficacy of a treatment. Anyone that says that they have the knowledge to discern what is a effective treatment option and what is not an effective option that doesn’t have, at a minimum, a background in biology is more than likely wrong. You don’t just understand the underlying processes that facilitate healing.
But, in his mind, that makes me a Big Pharm shill because he believes this grand conspiracy that an evil cabal called “Big Pharm” exists solely to make evil “monopoly” profits, which are worse than regular profits, which are apparently bad too. I dunno, it’s hard to keep his rhetoric straight.
For those following along cough cough I wrote “prescribed treatment options”. If you want to take your chances with an unlicensed basement dwelling witch doctor, by all means, help yourself. I’m not generally in favor of regulating what a person chooses to put in their bodies (another inconsistency of Zeps).
Another hot topic of his, marijuana, is the same way. I’m 100% in favor of at least decriminalizing marijuana. I couldn’t care less about people smoking recreationally, but as a prescribed treatment option I would like the efficacy studied by real doctors in a controlled environment so I know what the positives/negatives of that treatment option are. Again, if you want to self medicate with a prescription from your street pharmacist, have at it. I don’t care.
But that makes me a Big Pharm Shill because, again, there is some grand conspiracy against marijuana.
There are 100 other things I could write here, but I think I’ve gotten my point across. Now wait for the sweet reply I get. Something along the lines of “well, you imply you’re against weed” or some such nonsense.
And you do realize I was making fun of you, right?
Right?
You watch quacks on Youtube.
Following there advice. Like a good little boy!

OMG, a spelling error you must be so proud!
Is this what happens in the majority of countries with single-payer? Sounds like the “free-market” is working it’s magic. See earlier post. While the “free-market” provides the highest “healthcare” without generating the best outcomes. It is easy to see that it’s primary concern is, above all, profits. It is the reason why te pharma lobbied against medicinal cannabis. They wanted to limit public choice in an effort not to lose money. So the public could suffer so they could keep their monopoly status. Great system!
I’m currently 49 and am more aware than you.
