Flip Flops in the gym

Geez, my dumb ass spelled occurrence wrong.

I do leg stuff in sandals, including stuff like stiff deads and squats, and they’re fine, they’re actually more comforatble then my sneakers too. Who the fuck cares if someone wears sandels, people should mind there own business.

Don’t knock work boots in the gym until you’ve tried them.

I don’t care what other people wear to work out, but I wouldn’t ever wear flip flops to lift.

If you drop a plate on your foot it’s going to hurt no matter what (unless you’re wearing work boots). However, I have dropped a plate on my foot at an angle that actually tore my sneaker. If I had been wearing sandles or flip fops it would have torn a chunk out of my foot.

I used to always wear flip-flops or sandals everywhere, even in the snow, except to the gym. But when I lived in Utah for a while I worked out with a group of big polynesian guys who convinced me to wear sandal to the gym and flip 'em off to squat.

It’s not the shoes that protect your feet, it’s your grip. !Duh!

At my gym it is mandatory for all women to wear 6" spike heels when they train.

Boots are acceptable too.

Of course, the look isn’t complete without the right outfit.

I wear flip flops to the gym. Who wants to fight?!? I’ve been training hard, so bring it on!!

JK. I don’t care if you wear them. Just don’t bitch if something gets dropped on them on, ahem, accident. And don’t bring your fucking cell phone. If you’re an MD on call, fine. Otherwise, I’m gonna throw it threw the window.

MD, do you need a workout partner? ;D)

Any time Jeff, anytime. I’ll whoop your butt back into shape in no time.

I seriously wore flip flops to the gym yesterday. I wanted to squat, so I took them off, and I was told to put them back on.

Don’t worry bro! I’m not mad. I love you man!

I’ve squatted, deadlifted and overhead pressed barefoot many times. I don’t see anything wrong with that. It’s more stable and you get a better feeling.

I wear flip flops all the time, but not at the gym. I recently got a pair of Chuck T’s so I don’t have to go barefoot in my dirty gym, but I still get the benefits of the flat bottom.

I wear flip flops all the time…home, work, school, everywhere. Even to the gym sometimes, though not on leg days. Doesn’t affect my workout at all, and it’s comfortable. As for me not caring about the way I look? Yeah, you’re right, maybe I’m not Mr. GQ, but I get laid as much as I like.
