Flex, The Movie

Couldn’t find a source, but it has the distributors listed in the info. Good luck on your noble quest. May the wind always be on your back and the sun upon your face and may the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars.

Wow I did a search on any of the existing remnants of the production or distribution companies…most no longer exist, and the few hints of life remaining look like shell corporations. I don’t know if they’re involved in film production, or the importation of Thai tranny hookers.

It’s somewhat eerie that remnants of the production company still exist, because they certainly haven’t made anything for public consumption since Flex (1988). How long does a corporation still officially exist in the United States after it stops doing business altogether (and presumably stops filing tax returns)?

Damn, I’m starting to really get into this…maybe I’ll go down in history as the guy who resuscitated Flex: The Movie!

This time next year (assuming the world doesn’t end), I might be calling Tom Platz to see if he’ll make a special appearance at the first Flex Fan Con.

Cool. Hopefully you will have forgotten about my ‘frolicking’ comment by then…

what comment?

By the way, it seems that at least as of earlier this year, Mr. Platz was working at Scottsdale’s own Airpark Chrysler Jeep dealership!

Anyone here live in Arizona? I’d probably be willing to help someone complete their Voltron collection if they would go visit Tom and ask him for a signed copy of Flex: The Movie (released as Flex – Body Love, in Bolivia and possibly Liechtenstein).

Hell I’ll probably hook you up with a boxed 1998 Angel Wings Barbie if he has any production stills or a Betamax copy.

I know this discussion is very old but, in the interest of movie history and to answer a question or two about the movie Flex, I was actually invited to the premier showing because Ken Waller was a neighbor and one of my older sisters worked out in Ken Waller’s gym and was in the movie as an extra that was a member training in the gym. I believe that Ken Norton Sr. (The heavyweight Champion) was also in that movie. He also worked out at Mr.Waller’s gym in those days.
Like you said, it was the 80’s and everything from those days is a bit fuzzy but I remember wishing I could walk out on the premier. I don’t think it would have been a smart thing to do.
I might have to ask my sister if she has a copy of that movie on VHS somewhere.
I would like to say that I’ve seen a lot of movies and a lot of bad movies. Even though Flex is one of the worst, I don’t think it is the worst movie ever made in America but, it comes close. For sure .

I’m just catching up to this thread by pure accident. I live in Scottsdale. I even know exactly where that dealership is located. I pass by it occasionally. Do you know if Mr. Platz still works there, and if so, are you still interested in obtaining a copy of the movie…if he has access to one?
