Fish Oil Math?

For the past month I have bumped my Flameout intake from 4 a day to 8 a day. I feel better at 8 per day than four, until I did the math and figured I would be spending $81 bucks a month on fish oil alone. While shopping at BJ’s ( a wholesale club) last night I came across some fish oil on sale. I am sure it is not comparable to Flameout, but figured I could substitute it for the 4 additional Flameout I was taking.

The Bottle states 2 pills = Total Fat 2.5, Sat Fat1g,Poly 1g, and Mono 0.5g.

Now the part that is throwing me off…Fish oil Concentrate(2400mg) Omega3 fatty Acids(EPA/DHA/&other Omega3)720mg?

My best guess would be 6 pills would be somewhat comparable to 4 Flameout? Am I missing something here?

I know these fish oil questions are rampant on this forum, but times are tuff and looking to save a few bucks were I can.

That’s odd…usually they specify the exact amounts of DHA and EPA. In most of the cheaper formulations I see, the ratio of EPA to DHA seems to be about 1.3:1.

I wouldn’t worry about getting exact dosages with fish oil. I literally swallow random handfuls of Kirkland fish oil throughout the day. Flameout is probably one of, if not the best formulation on the market, but I doubt many people can afford to take high doses of it.

You’re talking about Nature Made fish oil I presume.

Just pay attention to the 720mg of DHA and EPA. The remaining 1680mg is just other fats.

It was just a BJs brand, never saw before. If Flameout contains DHA 2200mg and EPA 880mg for a total of 3080mg.BJS brand is the 720mg together that would be 3080/720=4.2 servings which would be 4.2x2=8.4 or 8 pills?

Wow, I know math is not my forte but does that sound right?
