First Time Prohormone

Going into my first offseason as a college football player (small college and no drug testing) and am looking to put on mass and gain as much strength in the winter as I can where we only lift and condition. I have multiple teammates who have tried and love different prohomones but Ive never personally tried anything like that. Ive read a lot that says not to take anything like this until you are 21 (I’m 19) but I’ve also talked to family friends who body build and work at nutrition stores and says that I should be fine taking one as long as I take a proper post cycle and dose it right. Im not certain I will take one but am definitely doing a lot of looking into it and figured this would be a good place to get doe other opinions.

The two main PH’s I’ve heard about and read about the most were Havoc and something called Riot. I was wondering if anyone had other suggestions as to what PH to take if I wanted to take one and what kind of post cycle to take.

Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Stats- 6’2" 215lbs

You’re not gonna bet many answers here there’s not a whole lot of PH users here. Go back a few pages and there’s a thread called prohormones what you need to know, something like that but there’s a lot of info in there. My advice is do plenty of research before doing them and IMO PHs aren’t worth it. Also know that PHs can shut you down just like steroids and they also NEED a pct just like a steroid cycle so don’t let the guys at the nutrition store sell you some over the counter bullshit.

And at 19 you need to research and understand the potential risks involved.

You’re 19, your nuts should be able to handle some serious training. Why risk wrecking your liver, nuts and health in general with PH’s? Very likely a fool’s phantom shortcut with a bad risk/ reward set-up. Just put your efforts into your training and plan long-term.
You may want to talk to other “family friends” than the current numbnuts.

My take on PHs is the following :

There are two kinds of prohormones.

First, there are the ones that have no effect whatsoever, which means there’s no point in taking them
Then, you’ll find substances that will get you some gains (Superdrol and stuff like that). Thing is, these molecules are genuine oral steroids. They just aren’t banned… yet. This means that you run the risk of getting gyno, liver/kidney failure, etc. Now, I’m not saying it will happen, but they require serious research.

I was intending on using them, then, as I did more and more research, I wondered “hey why not use stuff like var, Tbol, dbol, …?”, then I did more research and figured that I’d be waaaaaaay better off (more gains, more gain-retention, less risks, less sides, …) with a real cycle, which I’m about to post :slight_smile: I’ve done quite a bit of reading on this forum, and I’ve just created my account :slight_smile:

I realize that being 19 increases my chances of damaging my liver and thats why I came here to just ask for some experienced lifters/athletes opinions. Im really not sure if this is something I wanted to do and figured this would be a good way to get some advice so thanks.

beastyqt I’ve came across a lot of reviews on those products (var, tbol, dbol,) and have heard both a lot of good and bad which is expected I suppose. Did you actually do a cycle of one or more of those?

I’m about to cycle with Test E and dianabol, so not yet but I’ll start next week.
Just keep in mind that using orals without testosterone injections is a bad bet, so either remain natural or go “all” out (keep in mind that you can’t go overboard on your first cycle with huge doses and many different products because if you’re too inexperienced in using steroids you’ll just end up dead).

So basically you just some how pulled a 4 paragraph page answer on what you think you should or should not do with prohormones based completely off what you just happened to have read on the internet some where or one of your friends told you. This is a fucking joke.

You have no place taking steroids and you have even LESS of a place to give advice to people considering you have zero fucking first or even second hand knowledge of the drugs or what they do.

Now OP as to your question your 19 years old your body is going through a extremely anabolic time all on its own right now. You can make amazing gains with nothing more than food and a good program with zero risk of fucking your self up. Dont fool your self Pro Hormones have worse side effects than most AAS. Just because they are legal does not mean they are safe.

Thanks Reed for pointing that out I didn’t check into who put what just because I checked out my thread between finals and thanks for the advice on whether or not to get on a PH or not. I know that this is still a time where my bodies natural hormones and testosterone but is there anything else you can recommend safer than a test booster or PH other than the usual stuff like creatine, water and protein?

Unfortunately not really man. I mean its one of those things you just have to decide what’s most important to you. If your physically ready and knowledgeable which l can’t comment because you have not specified anything other than your age really. But I won’t hold that against you I started the same age as you essentially so I can’t say dont do that. What I can tell you though is that at 22 years old unless I’m on at least 200-300mg of test a week I feel like complete and utter shit my natty levels drop to almost 200ng in about 2 months and I feel like a little girl. My dick doesn’t work and I barely can get out of the bed in the morning and I promise you this is because I started to young. If I could redue it I would I wouldn’t start until 21 or even later.

But, if your willing to take then chance and you want it that fucking bad then I can’t stop you and wont. I’ll even give the best advice I can to help you on your way IF you ready. By ready I mean have reached a reasonable level of physical preparedness, have a good knowledge of training, nutrition, and recovery and can prove that. Other wise I call you a fucking dip shit just like the super knowledgeable 150 lbs dip shot above… Because I’m fair like that.

we have a great trainer at our school actually that should be at a bigger school and he knows his shit thats for sure but I feel like theres other things I could be doing to help really get better gains. I could be wrong but I thought its worth a shot asking. Not looking necessarily for a magic pill like people say just something to kick start some good good gains over the winter.

Thats shitty I’m sorry to hear that it worked out bad for you but i really appreciate hearing something like that considering mostly all you hear is the good side about these things. Even though I do have really good knowledge over the things you listed above (nutrition,recovery,etc) but I also feel like theres more I can learn. Thanks again man!

Man I promise pick this coaches brain for every bit of information he has. Spend atleast 1 more year under his guidance and kill it. Eat like a fucking mad man clean food man but kill it. Sleep and fuck you will be good to go. Take the year to learn every thing you can about AAS and then jump on. You won’t regret it I promise.
