First time Cycle simple?

I am thinking of doing a cycle. Can I just take 300 Mg a week for 8 - 12 weeks? (150 every 3.5 days) without anything else? Numbers are good but I’m on TRT 100 a week and just started 1 week ago. Was on Clomid for two months and went from 460 to 790 Testosterone level but no libido so switched. I’m a bit older but muscular. 64 years old. Will be on test for Life probably so that is a consideration. I just want a quick bump on the muscle front. Losing weight also on Zepbound. Down from 270 to 225 and looking at 200 as the goal. 6ft 2. Again, have muscles but they are going away with the weight loss too! Thanks for any advice. Don’t know about taking all the other items with it as not sure where I would get them. Have test through my urologist but have a bit saved up or will when I start. Also if I need to use an Aromasin can I just take Clomid instead?

I cannot imagine what possible benefits there would be for a 64 year old to run their first cycle of steroids, especially after having just recently dropped down from a bodyweight of 270lbs, compared to the myriad of risks involved.

May I ask what you currently do in regards to the gym?

I work out Back Bi and Chest Tries 2wice each a week and 1 day legs. Pretty much same workout Ive done for years. As an example I would do Rows, front pull downs for Lats. Then Biceps I would do Dumbbell curls sets at 35, 40 and 45LB about 8 per set. Then machine curls at 50, 60 and 70lb. And then hammer curls at 30, 35, 35. Basically 3 different exercises per muscle and sets of 6 -8 increasing in weights.

Didnt address the question. But the benefits would be muscle growth and libido I imagine. Yes 64 years old seems really fricken old doesnt it. But i’m athletic and always been muscular. Swimmer and Water Polo player. Got a bit fat over the years and that is why I’m now dropping. Have a young wife and would like to look better. That is the benefit.

But the benefits would be muscle growth and libido

You just started TRT 1 week ago. These benefits come with TRT alone. I would give it a chance to work before upping the dose.

So why don’t you give this a couple months for you body to adapt? It takes 4-5 weeks for the test to reach full saturation and then another month or two after that for you body to reach it’s new homeostasis. You don’t just start taking test and boom your a new man. It takes time.
Another consideration if you TRT i smonitored by a DR then you will need to get bloods pulled prob every three months for a while. That is not enough time to do any kind of cycle and then get your bloods back in shape.

The TRT alone is gonna make a huge difference once it if fully saturated.

I’m with the rest… you just started TRT. Get dialed in on that first…. 6 months minimum. Then reconsider.

I agree with the analysis. I did just start. I know I havent ramped up to full dosage. I also won’t be able to do it and then lower enough for the Dr’s followup visit. I’m going to see how it goes on the labs in February and then when the next ones are scheduled and make a decision based upon how it is going. To be honest it has only been 1.5 weeks and I do feel great. No libido yet but was on clomid prior and need that to also flush out. So In February I should have a better feeling of Libido, muscle loss and weight. Just looking a bit ahead on this.

Pertaining to the first AAS use for adding muscle mass, 64 years old is really old.

I will take a different thought than most others. Time is your biggest enemy. If not now, when? And what is bad, now is too late. If I were in your position and didn’t mind the risk, I’d run a blast right now (if I had the AAS on hand.)

In the interest of a test that the Forum would like, I would run TRT for 6 months and see the results you get. Then run a blast and see how much more you improve.

If you are concerned with optimizing your length and quality of life, I would only do TRT.

I think you missed the part where he said he just started Dr TRT. They will be checking bloods. He doesn’t have enough time.

I did not miss that. I am saying what I would do. I would skip the blood test. BUT, I said if I had the AAS on hand.

I’d go a step further and make sure I have some on hand by simply ordering it.

The advice above is all well and good regarding the guys health, but he’s 64, he wants muscle, he wants to look good. Is 100mg per week for the next 6 months going to help him achieve this? Quite possibly but he says he’s already muscular, I would for sure hit 300mg now - as Nomad said, time is his enemy and waiting 6 months isn’t something I would do. How much longer is he going to live? No one knows. Will 500mg test reduce his lifetime by years? If he’s been cleared by the dr to run trt, hitting 500mg for a 12 week cycle will change his quality of life for the better, especially if everything else is dialled in.

Thank you. And right! I’m 64 but not getting younger. Still in great shape overall and feel like I could still beat most of these guys in many sports (ok. Swimming for sure…..and thats probably about it). Yes I think now is better than later and I do have a young wife. Want to still perform and my libido is in the toilet. BUT I do agree with them too that I just started. I just got off libido killer Clomid so really need to let it all work. I do think I should wait until my check up in Mid February. Then Assess the levels. I am going to take my own Testostorne test and then skip a week of TEST for my Dr’s visit as I want my testosterone low for that so he ups my dose but I will know the real numbers. The Red Blood and Estrogen shouldnt be too impacted by skipping 8 days but the test should be lower due to it. When you say BLAST what level for me? I was thinking 8 - 12 weeks on 300 a week. I’m sure you mean like 500 or more right? I don’t overly care about being too jacked as I always did have a good body but now the muscle has dropped due to weight loss on Zepbound. Just want to have some to look good as I get thin! Thanks for the hints. Any other items please feel free to DM me. Thanks again!

I would think this is a good plan. Maybe just reduce the mgs you take each scheduled injection. If you are taking 100mg per week, drop it to say 40mg per week

I have no experience running only testosterone, so if that’s what you plan to do, others here can better help you.

I never took more than 200mg/wk of testosterone but always stacked it with other AAS. That just increases the health risk.

Sorry but skipping a week is not gonna give you low test on your bloodwork.
I’ve charted your proposed cycle(300mg/wk) starting 12/20 and running 12 weeks which end injections 3/11. This gives you a total saturation of 3850ng/dl. It will take until 3/20 just to get you below 1000ng/dl which is the still above the high end of the range. Of course this is all subjective as we all metabolize test differently but it’s not gonna be far off. To be at your current level of 790ng/dl you would have to wait until 3/28 for bloodwork. That’s 17 days just to get you back to your current level. And that does not take into account any other blood markers that are off.
IMO staying the course with TRT at your age is gonna be much more beneficial long term than doing a cycle, not gaining much muscle and messing things up with your Dr.

Why do you think he won’t gain much muscle from a blast? Due to his age?

Yes. I’m not saying he won’t gain any muscle, he will prob gain a bit. What I’m saying is at his age I think TRT long term will have more benefit for him.
He just started TRT 1 week ago. This alone once the test is at full saturation should make a world of difference for him.
He also has the Dr to deal with. By his comments he has no idea how test with an ester attached metabolizes in the body.

Correct here. You need 4+ weeks on a TRT protocol for bloodwork to reflect properly.

It’s a super mild blast. If he knew what he was doing he may eek out a few extra lbs over TRT but it won’t yield him anything more long term than he would get from straight TRT. Now if he blasts every couple months that’s different.
