First Ever Estradiol Lab

Been on TRT since 2016 with family doctor and then endocrinologist. Got fed up with these doctors and this forum showed me they were (on this one topic) incompetent but well intentioned.

Wento TRT clinic, and the NP ordered these two labs (also CBC, didnt include that here). The NP had me temporarily stop my (from endocrinologist) twice weekly 62mg cypionate injections, wait 7 days from last injection, then draw these labs.

Until this NP/TRT clinic, no one has ever mentioned or ordered this estradiol lab, or any of the others ive recently learned about on this forum except for total and free t, thyroid panel, psa, and cbc.

Id appreciate some observations/context on what might be going on here. I want to walk into Friday’s appointment prepared to discuss whatever the NP is likely to propose. I already know hes gonna switch me to enanthate, as i seem to be sensitive to the cypionate and we discussed that.

Id prefer to receive a level of TRT that doesnt involve me taking additional medications like aromatase inhibitors, etc.

From labs drawn at very end of December

Total T, 535
Free T, 99.2

These labs were injections by subq, in abdomen

Are you having issues you are attributing to high estradiol?

If your protocol is 2x per week this is inappropriate. You should have tested the day before your next injection on the morning of but before you inject.

Probably nothing. Its ok to have slightly high E2 when T levels are high. I would want to see your SHBG and FT as well. If you are not experiencing high E2 side effects then do nothing.

Theres other things in play (historical thyroid issues, historical poor nutrition, historical interference of meds….addressed all these 6 months ago or more). Yes, im experiencing man cans/solid B cups, difficulty losing belly fat despite exercise and nutrition, a bit too emotional, erections are a bit strong but only when physically stimulated. Also, i initially built strength, but rapidly reached a point where it didnt improve anymore and im not building muscle mass.

What im looking for here: based on info provided in this thread, what can i anticipate the NP wanting to discuss and propose at my follow up appointment? What should I be proactively bringing up?

Always provide normal ranges for your FT, because not all lab companies have the same normal ranges which vary wildly.

Good to mention. Also, ive read in a few places (mixture opinion and source cited fact) that labs in America commonly use different (altered) T reference ranges based on age and also the current “normal” T levels as oppsed to what they were until the 50s when they started dropping from historical norms due to combination altered food supply/eating habits/society/environment.

That (or something similar on here) set me on that path of thinking. Being the untrustworthy soul Ive become in recent years, I then spent an inappropriate amount of my recent free time scraping up other sources, lol
