First Cycle, for the Second Time

Hi everybody!

Been lurking a little while, figured I would finally sign up and dive into this thing.

Ive always “worked out” (without rhyme or reason) or have been relatively active through my teen years. Started actually implementing a workout plan at age 21 and did rather well. I lived mostly in the country side without much money so I’ve been called Encino man or caveman many times because of using Cinder Blocks, buckets of old bricks and gravel etc as equipment… Along with my 1 bar and 2 dumbells. Even to this day I’ve only been to a public gym maybe 8 times, mainly for convenience reasons.

Age 23 I started my First Cycle…

10 weeks:

Test E, went up to 200mg every 4days.
And DBOL (forget the dose I took)
Nolva pct

(Had arimidex and clomid but never ended up using them)

As I surprisingly seemed to have no negative side effects besides wanting to eat absolutely everything in sight haha

I remember once it started I was actually wearing sweaters to hide how f*ckin big I was getting so fast. I was marveled and honestly thought “this is too much bro wtf”. I was able to get even bigger than a few of my buddies that had been on them already for a few cycles. EVERYONE NOTICED. I went from 198 to 235. And could run for 2 straight miles. I was ALIVE!

Came off the cycle no issues. Came down to just over 220Lbs. Life was great.

Fast forward through the next 5 years of complete BS (not aas related, just life). And here I am 30 years old… (never thought I’d see the day tbh) , 5’10 250lbs, COMPLETELY out of shape. Time to Wake up…

Did bodyweight circuit training for 8weeks to try and remember what muscles were and to get my heart pumping again. And 180° my diet.

And have been doing my old push/pull/legs routine. Always been my favorite. Except I started with 10Lbs on small lifts and 50Lbs on the bigger lifts to try and just get back in shape some. (don’t laugh too hard! It’s all about progression… right? Haha)

Anyways…
I’m now…
30 years young
5’10
195Lbs
20-23% bf (estimated of course)

Next Cycle:
(Probably start in about 4weeks, already geared up.)

–Test E , 200mg E4D

-Anavar, 20mg/day for 6weeks. (I see this as a good testing dose for my 1st time as I think it’s a bit low for BB standards.)

Nolva Pct 40/40/20/20 split.

Also might sign up for a Gym since I live in the city now. There’s one half-hour away, so I’ll be the big dummy trying to figure out how the machines work
haha

Anyways, that’s me.

I hope everyone’s is doing well and gettin them gains!

Please don’t hesitate to comment, the more we share the more we know. Recommendations, advice, questions or stories of your own. Send em!

Cheers.

Don’t suppose you’ll be getting bloodwork before/during/after cycle+PCT to see how SHBG was impacted by the Anavar and test dose/schedule? Been extra curious about that lately

your after cycle cut is going to be a task from that starting point

Already have the drugs but no gym membership. The cart doesn’t actually go in front of the horse.

Unfortunately Not. Would very much like too though!

Thats a very rough bf% from online calculators to be fair. And from 10lbs heavier but thought it was close enough for a starting estimate.

Also why I wanted to test the Anavar. I do alot of skipping, biking, kayaking and keep diet in check. So I don’t think I it should be too bad. However I am a noob at this so hit me with that knowledge stick by all means lol

Drugs were easier to get, and no contracts. Haha jk.

Have had a home Gym with plenty of weights I bought when I was 23. And could happily live on that. Just think some machines and some of the other gym benefits (messages, saunas, classes, etc ) will be really beneficial too. Plus I’ll no doubt learn more from the experience.

I’d recommend hitting then gym for about 6 months to figure out the equipment and to get all you can naturally until you plateau. Only then would I recommend AAS’s.

Doing this you can maximize the use of AAS’s, which IMO is meant to get you to the next level, having obtained all you can naturally. I understand the impatience, but you can get further with some patience.

You’re absolutely right, I am a bit excited shedding lots of fat already and having my muscles all coming back is really good feeling and nice to see my size coming back some… I WANT MORE! lol…

I wanted to gear to “cheat” my way back to my old self faster. I did plan on waiting at least 4 more weeks before I start. But I will probably wait longer. Thanks for the advice!

Well I mean, if you want to, you can lol. I’m curious if the larger doses of T help offset any drop in SHBG from the Var. It may be just pissing test away in the end unless you inject more often

Then anavar may not be the best choice. It’s know to cause pretty serious pumps in smaller muscles (calves, forearms, etc) and you’re likely working all of those a lot harder with that kind of activity vs weight training.

You made me do more research, perfect!
I’ve read lots of threads and articles on forums but your comment makes me realize there’s probably more I should know first, befor jumping on the var combo. And I’m going to look into blood test. Would be the smart thing to do when the time comes.

Oh you’re right!
I Admit I jumped the gun on getting the var. Haha

Think I’ll just stick with the Test E for the first run. Save the var for another time. Appreciate the feedback!

It takes a lot longer than six months to plateau.

It’ll crash SHBG. All DHT derivitives do

Yeah i get that. I’m curious if the larger dose of T is enough to not crash his TT and FT from the drop in SHBG.

Hey man. Welcome to the forum.

First off, if I read your post correctly, CONGRATULATIONS on going from 250 to 195, naturally. That is insane!

Next, you’re not gonna wanna hear this, but……

If you really are 23% and mostly untrained, you’re doing yourself a disservice by not getting leaner and gaining a few pounds of muscle first, before you cycle.

Some say the fattest you should be before a cycle is 15%. They’re probably right. I get down to about 17-18 before a cycle and I do OK, but 23? That’s a recipe for trouble, friend. And you should DEFINITELY max out natural potential before AAS.

Not saying you can’t do it, but…consider 2 scenarios….

  1. If you hop on gear now, sure you may “cheat your way back to your old self”, (this is highly unlikely, by the way) but then it will be time to hop off and PCT. You’ll almost certainly lose some of what you gained, leaving you less than “your old self”, 4 months from now. No doubt, you’ll be disappointed and already Jonesin’ for your next cycle. Add three months time off gear, and 7 months from now, you’ve ran a cycle and are unsatisfied with your physique.

  2. Instead, you could start a slow cut, in a slight deficit, to trim down to 15-17%, all the while, making steady newb gains in the big compound movements. You could do that for about 3-4 months until you’re leaner, then add in a few hundred calories for another 3-4 months to keep gains coming, without fat. Same time frame, total 7 months from now, you’re leaner, stronger, armed with 7 months experience under the bar, healthier, and ready to start a sick cycle.

I think the second scenario will work out much better for you. It’s not the ideal scenario. The ideal scenario would have you getting lean and then maximizing natural muscle potential in 3years or so, then getting on gear. I’m keeping in mind that you’re admittedly impatient and trying to give you a plan somewhere between would you laid out and what’s ideal.

Thank you! Intermittent fasting + good calorie deficit, good food, and tracking macros. Oh, and time… lol still losing!

I don’t think I’m that high right now in all honesty. And was hoping over the next 4-8 weeks I’d be around 18% or less for sure. Then hit the var and test e.

But either way I agree with what you’re saying and the recommendations of others, and I am definitely going to wait it out a few months. Plenty of time to get in extra research too. Thanks for the solid advice!
