Randizo, Im chimming in kinda late. Just wanted to say great job man, your cycle progress is an inspiration to me.
Ill be starting my first cycle soon and im definately using your thread as a reference!
Keep up the good work!
Jazz
Jazz, thanks bro that is great to hear!
You have to be a Coltrane fan huh? The best!
If you have any questions feel free to ask!
How old are your shoes? A nice new pair of asics may help to alleviate most of your shin split issues.
Lillguy, I thought the same thing. They are less than 3 months old. Nice high end Asics!
I think the main reason for it was I hadn’t done any intense (running) for awhile, the incline was on about 7, and I just went right to it. I also found from the net that posture has a whole lot to do with it as well.
Standing up straight (even awkwardly straight) takes pressure off of the tendons that are flaring up.
Definately a Coltrane fan! I actually workout to him periodically mostly on cardio. Its a little different to workout to, but does provide a great cool down blend.
Ha! Yeah you won’t be runnign to a 4/4 that’s for sure. Might look funny to everyone else galloping a 5/4 or 6/8 on the treadmill.
I love my jazz, but always work out to the more groove oriented stuff.
But that swing is off the chain, John Pizzarelli is the man!
Lol! Imagine that, running to a 5/4. Would definately get some funny looks in the gym! Btw, I love John but Chic and Herbie are who I swing to!
Chic Korea does rock an dthat showtime special on herbie was bad-ass.
Ok, sorry everyone… musicians talking here.
Back to the matter at hand… Me going from a skinny fat man to Cheick Kongo style. I’m gonna need a lot of Melanotan
Workout was strong today!
Popped 25mg Dbol 30mins prior
Legs:
Squats
135lbs warmup X 12
225lbs X 10
275lbs X 10
335lbs X 8
135lbs X 20
I felt strong as an ox today
I think I could have squatted anything.
Amazing how insignificant 135lbs felt for the last set. I did teh 20 in about 45 seconds
Quads and Glutes were super pumped!
Leg Curls
3 sets 160 lbs X 10
Leg Extensions
160lbs X 12
205lbs X 10
220lbs X 8
Again, quads were blowing up right before my eyes. I felt a little vain but I had to pull the shorts up a tad to see those bitches working, I was happy to see they were huge!
Worlds Calve Torture
I tried Seated raises but quads were so tender the pressure of the pad was just too painful
So I went to Squat rack and did calf raises with a bbell on my back standing on platform thingy
135lbs 10 reps
Then 15 sec stretch and 7 second contraction for 6 reps
Repeated 3 more times fucking ouch!
Then Bodyweight Calf raises 40 reps
Then Seated Calf extensions (Not raises)
90lbs 2 sets of 10 with the 15/7 stretch/contraction
Couldn’t do anymore.
13 mins on treadmill with high incline 8.0 speed of 3.5 just to get some movement in my legs so I wasn’t paralyzed tonight.
Treated myself to a few slices of pizza tonight.
I remember earlier in this thread someone mentioned that you seemed to gain size and strength better when you did high weight, high intensity training sessions, but look much harder with your current high volume style.
I wonder if it would be conducive to size gain to go hard and heavy for the rest of your cycle and then go back to something high volume like you’re running now during your second week of stasis. That way you have a much bigger foundation to cut down from.
Just a thought. Get back to me.
World
World, I agree. My biggest issue has been finding someone to spot me in that type of workout. Because what I have found is that you basically need someone to spot you that isn’t working out too. With the low volume heavy weight high intensity your “set” will take a long time to finish (I never even get up for the bench for instance), while everyone else waits. That’s why it’s been so sporatic. When I can find someone to spot than I def do the workout as you wrote it.
But also, I am working with the heaviest weights I can lift on all of my primary compounds, and increasing the weight almost every week. Strength is increasing!
But I hear you bro, I even thought of hiring a trainer just for this reason, but they are-fuck expensive at my gym.
On Bench for instance would it be more beneficial if I was working with 2 other guys, to just warmup an dthen do my sets at my 6rep max everytime, then the last to failure? Instead of increasing weight up to 1 or 2 rep max?
Let me know bro, I know you won’t steer me wrong.
Your first plan for working out with two guys sounds like a good idea.
Your best bet would be to get a training partner. That way you can rest in between exercises while spotting the other guy. The big thing is minimizing rest between sets, not lifts.
World
Yea, training partners are a must. It’s good if you can develop a circle of friends who enjoy bodybuilding, and that are dedicated. That way you have a couple guys you can count on to go with you when other ones can’t. Then you don’t have to worry about moving heavy weight.
I’ve got 2-3 guys that I can workout with everyday, but they all do 1 body part per day, and kill it with high volume, like on shoulder day they do presses, fronts raises, side laterals, shrugs, bent over shoulder dbells etc… It takes like an hour and a half. I try and sneak in 2 sets at a time, by just doing 6 and resting for a sec and saying ok 6 more, but normally they just want to get their set in quickly.
Yet another 450+ MG today
Still quad only.
Had what I believe is a bit of rage last night, I found myself being pretty rough with the family pet. Had to sort of snap out of it. I was all red and super pumped at the time.
Today is shoulders so I’ll need to wear myself out good and get some of the extra energy out.
I DEFINITELY feel the full 900mg-1g of test in my system is releasing.
The androgenic side is starting to show it’s head.
I have perma-wood from when I get up till about 11am, I find myself having quite an interest in damn near every half way attractive girl I see. Feel like freaking Pepe La Pew. Luckily I am not sleazy, and obviously wouldn’t ever cross lines that I shouldn’t. Bt at 32 when I find myself staring at a 19yr olds ass, I have to say “Dude!” Stop that shit.
Thus far no hair loss, no ball shrinkage, very very little breakouts, one nice one on the chin right now.
I am def ready for the ninjas though.
And when something sappy comes on TV I have to turn it or I’ll get too emotionally involved. Thankfully Spike TV plays into the T-Nation crowd. No lifetime originals.
Or that damn commercial with Sarah Mclachlan and the animals in the shelters, that didn’t used to bother me at all… WTF?
Holding fast at 236lbs. Feeling great
19 is fair game in every state bro;}
Seriously though, you are a great first cycle experience to watch. I appreciate your invaluable contribution to my learning (practical learning that is). (So yes, noobs can be extremely valuable if they aren’t asshats.)
Get Swole, and thanks for keeping up with me bro!
Oh I know and am stoked that 19 is legal, but I am 32 and I don’t want to be THAT GUY in the gym know what I mean??/

Bull
