First Cycle Based For Strength

I am committed to doing my first steroid cycle in a few months. I am as big as i would like to be and lean already, so my goal is to get stronger and leaner if possible. As a little extra size will not be horrible, my goal is to stay under 205 for aesthetic purposes. I am currently 185 pounds, 6’0 & have used sarms in the past; S4 twice, Osta Once, and LGD once.

The cycle i will be planning on running is:

1-12 W Test E 400mg
3-16 W Arimidex on hand in case high estrogen side effects become a concern
[2 weeks after last pin] - Clomid 50/50/25/25

Does this look good? 400 mg Test E/per week due to my goals of not gaining too much muscle. Planning on keeping all compound lifts 5 reps and under and will do accessorie excersises as i see fit. All feedback is welcome

Also forgot to mention, 12% body fat

That’s a good first cycle and you have your pct plan lined up properly. Looks good, man.

I am commenting because of how you worded the arimidex plan. Plenty of guys don’t even bother with AI. I personally am of the mind set that if I can avoid a problem with a little planning and action then I will do it. If you are planning to only use the arimidex if you show signs here is the issue. You might not show any signs until you are growing breast tissue. Some guys get little lumps then can’t get rid of them without surgery. You don’t know if you are one of those guys until you have the gyno and it won’t go away with medication.

Since it is your first cycle and you are trying to do a fill out / solidify / increased definition without going crazy on the mass gains then running an AI the whole time is a good idea. First it will keep the water retention down so you have a more accurate picture of what your finished product will look like. Second your heart has to work harder if you retain water so that right there is going to suck up energy you could use during cardio or other exercises. Third you don’t want to find out your body over reacts to estrogen the hard way. Fourth if you keep the aromatizing enzyme from eating the test then that is just a little more test working towards your goals.

I think with your goals and test dosage then somewhere around a total of up to 1 mg per week but split into small regular doses is good. You could do 0.25 EOD or 0.5 twice a week. I personally feel better and have drastically better morning wood if I take a small steady dose of AI weather it’s arimidex or aromasin.

I give this piece of advice to all the newer guys. Go look up the signs for high and low estrogen in men that way you can know what to look for when you self monitor. Ideally you have blood work but I don’t think a whole lot of us are in a situation where we can have multiple blood panels on cycle plus the one BEFORE we start (so we know what or base line is) and the one AFTER we PCT (so we know we have recovered).

That’s a fair point regarding arimidex. I’ve been pretty gung-ho about believing it’s necessary, but the more I learn about other guys and their lack of need for it the more cautious I’ve become. I’m generally in agreement that you should use it at a low dose to start out, but I could be totally wrong about that, which makes me second guess what’s right and what’s not.

Spot on here! Many guys on or off, utilize Adex almost always but in REALLY small doses daily, for all the reasons listed. E is evil for us gents. And it only gets worse as you get older…exo AAS implemented or not.

Since I am not looking to gain too much weight and desire the strong/ripped qualities over the bulky mass look, should i eat at maintenance or deficit? Will i still be able to put on a considerable amount of strength in a deficit on 400mg/week?

There is no right answer except, “it depends”. Granted, a caloric deficit will definitely keep you as small as possible. Strength is more a function of your nervous system and what you’ve been born with. The T will enable you to have higher igf-1 levels which will in turn activate more nerves and thus more strength. There are too many variables.

You have your plan, it’s time for action. Adjust as you go and LEARN how YOU react to said compounds.
